this home at home going to be crucial if we buyers or sellers.

2 wins against Toronto suddenly changes the landscape.

I really hope Cappy doesnt mess this up by trying to play Nabby both nights. Nabby has been playing great for us and his only losses have come on night when he tired.

I think if Ron Wilson drops two straight to Isles, he going to get fired.

Looking for 2 W's for the NYIs - Will be nice to see the Leafs face some adversity - the talking heads [media] Ive endured this season will have to back track on their words

There is no way he gets fired after signing an extension on Christmas Day - thereabouts
- MTL1

anything is possible. Toronto is city with big expectations. Noone is safe unless they winning.

Burke has expecations of making playoffs this year. They miss and that could change.

Only on Long Island can you suck and still have a job. Ask Mike Milbury. Any other organization would have fired him in first year.

Our current coach Capuano is terrible and his job safe win our lose.

Like your sense of humor. Why does that always happen. I have a friend who is Habs fan that thinks every NHLer born in Montreal going to go back too. Crosby (pre concussion), Loungo, Broduer. etc.

- Spartiarti

Honestly I have no idea why Leaf fans especially always do that, it's incredibly annoying... "Oh man Parise loved the Leafs growing up, he's gotta be coming here!" It's why other teams resent us, when we always talking about how all good players want to come here. JT is your cornerstone.

I'd argue that this season it's actually been Lupul helping Kessel put up better numbers. IMO Lupul has been the better of the two this season.
- Scruffton

Well Kessel never passes the puck so I assume you are right. That said Lupul and Toronto are not anyone I give a dang about.

This board involves the Leafs and he wasn't trolling

Anyways, hopefully it's a good game tonight, I like when the Leafs and Islanders play. I wish they were higher in the standings for a meaningful game with a star kid like JT and Moulson vs Kessel/Lupul

We do the same with Long Island players. There just aren't as many of them out there.. think about it though in the last 3 years we had nystrom, Gilroy, Komiserek, Higgins, etc. I don't blame them... if a player of JT's skill grew up in long Island I would be PRAYING he would come play for his home town. Hell we want Parise to sign here b/c his dad was an Islander.

I think u know what I was saying. It has been an issue with him for years. He has gotten much better at it this year... which is why that line is playing so well. I remember Jiggs Mac talking about it last year... "why would you bother coverig anyone else when Kessel has the puck.. just go get him he is going to shoot."

To be honest- I thought the same way until I watched a few games in the past few weeks. Lupul has made great strides to becoming a better player, and although he's got one of the more talented guys playing alongside him- he definitely merits more respect than what I originally gave him. He's very fast, and has a pretty wicked shot that puts the Kessel/Lupul tandem into the dangerous category for opponents.

That being said, Toronto doesn't drive the net at all. They rely too much on perimeter play, that if they face a solid goalie who will make the first save, they won't put enough pucks in the net. At least that's what I've found in the past few weeks out of a TO team that's starting to struggle.

It's kind of odd for a Brian Burke team, who claims he wants his team to have so much grit and "truculence", that they would lack the net presence or jam in their game to score the dirty goals. Their top players have next to no grit whatsoever- Grabs, Kessel, Lupul, Connolly, etc don't really have a mean streak to them.

Their goaltending is also streaky- so if Reims/Monster lets in a softy or two in a net, and the opposing team does a good job of keeping play to the perimeter and sustaining Kessel/Lups from getting quality shots off- Toronto is a pretty beatable team.

As I have several bets about playoffs and the Leafs with friends- I'm rooting hard for the Isles over the next few days! Go ISLES!

- Jordo

Well said! Leafs played the perimeter against the Habs on Sat. once again. It's the friggin Habs what the hell are you guys scared of in crashing the net and getting in Prices' face?? So pathetic... Burkie better go look for some truculence!

There are 4 points on the table for the Leafs to grab which is VERY do-able.
Like the Habs, there should be NO fear to crash the net against the Isle.

I also remember last season him playing for extended periods of time on lines with such high quality players like Bozak and Crabb. Before Lupul he never had another consistent scoring threat to pass to.

Isles have had a lot of guys who did/ do the same thing. We actually got rid of Commau for that reason more than anything else. The one great thing about JT is he always drives to the Net... it is rubbing off on the other guys. It just does not seem to sink in for some players. I really don't understand the thought process. especially when you see guys like JT and Moulson have so much success driving to the net. drives me nuts.

How is it sensitive to provide examples of your players? Some Islanders fans need to get over themselves

Isles need to be sharp tonight and tomorrow. Toronto is good team. We let to many breakaway again Nabby saturday night.

Rolston has to be taken off the 2nd pp unit ASAP. why put our team at disadvantage. Would love to hear Cappy's reason for why Rolston is better option than Hamonic.

Yeah, this nonsense of being told by TOR fans how great their players are and how their non-playoff team is less shi**y than our non-playoff team is getting old.
