Thats what I stated earlier. Thomas gets a pass bc of his numbers this year. The issue is every single day Bryz plays in net there is questioning the goals allowed. No matter how anyone tries to spin it he will be blamed for atleast one goal per night (that is considered soft). He has been very good over his last three games, everyone said he must be better, well he is taking steps in the right direction.
- stveshdy

If he plays well in the playoffs no one will even care about his regular season numbers. He's got plenty of time to redeem himself. Have to think he is due for some better luck as well.

Watched 3 good games.......The youngest Subban (another d-man) was impressive (Malcom didn't dress for the game yesterday)

Well, then I am happy that your trip was a success. I went to the diner yesterday and the kids sold 8 boxes of girl scout cookies. Your weekend was better than mine

according to who?

That is an opinion.

Holy crap! Who determines a quality save? someones opinion.

- ggunky

Ok fine. He made no quality saves, it is all subjective, you are right, we are wrong.

I'm perfectly happy with the way the situation has played out. Eli is a tougher, more clutch player than Peyton. I would take Eli over Peyton on my team all day, every day.
- PLindbergh31

If not for the Pats, Peyton would probably have more championships. Very unlucky that he happened to face NE (Brady/Belichick) during his prime. Not too often you see two greats at the same position. I do think Eli has taken his game to another level, especailly this year.

Right there and probably slightly above, especially if they win in 2 weeks.

Yep. Giants will be able to do a lot of good things against the Pats D.

The Giants will be punching the Pats in the mouth on both sides of the ball. I just don't think the Pats can respond.

I'm surprised more goalies don't do it. I was taught as a kid to do it, and when I played in front of a goalie that didn't it always bugged me.
- Jsaquella

It used to be pretty standard, like the arm up for icing, but I don't hear/see much of either anymore.

Just the game at Gatineau was better, I posted a photo on twitter of that all out brawl with 37 seconds to go

Well, as soon as somebody defends him, without admitting at the same time he needs to step it up, feel free to blast them.

Bryzgalov has had the worst combination of bad luck, team breakdowns in front of him and shooting himself in the foot I can remember seeing in my time watching the Flyers. There have been guys who were hung out to dry, or simply had bad luck, or who just didn't play well...but Bryzgalov has faced all three things in large amount all season long.

- Jsaquella

face it, there are some blatant apologists here. I understand the ire against those rooting against one tender vs another and that makes no sense to me. I just don't get the slack so many are in a rush to give to the recurring theme of 3 goals/gm, .895 sv % and at least 1 soft goal in ~80% of his gms. I'm rooting for bryz to succeed, be we have to keep it real.

I second that. Most of the recent bowls have worked out that way.

Yup. The one year Peyton beat the Pats, was the year he won the Super Bowl. He's more talented than Eli no question, I don't think he has the mental toughness or that clutch gene Eli has. When things go bad, you see Peyton's body language and demeanor go right towards resignation, while Eli fights tooth and nail every play.

I like the Giants pass rush on what will be a very fast track. It's going to be a hard game to win. I expect Brady to play a great game.

Ahhh, spin. I never said you were wrong.

My point is you have an opinion just like I do.

You want to say that quality saves are fact but a soft goal isn't.

This argument is stupid.

My point is nothing more then Bryz can be better.

He was signed to be the answer. Sorry for wanting Bryz to be better then he has been.

I have nio issues with Bryz or Bob. I have no agenda.

I would love for nothing more then Bryz to be the guy and hold the cup above his head wearing the O&B.

I don't see anything wrong with calling a goal soft.

I don't see anything wrong with saying he made many quality saves.

There are no blatant apologists here. We all know Bryz needs to improve his game. But we also can see that he has also been the victim of an inordinate amount of defensive breakdowns, for such a quality team, and an inordinate amount of deflection and bad luck goals. We would all like to see him make some of those saves because that is what a goalie with his kind of contract is supposed to do.

Stating otherwise in disingenuous.

You cant have one without acknowledging the other no matter which side you are on.

Glad to see you didn't throw Bryz under the bus with the shootout Bill. It's clear that Bryz didn't make the saves he should have during yesterday's contest but in the shootout, Bryz got no help by the shooters on his own team. I think Laviolette needs to make better choices in that area and our shooters have to go in more confident. Our shooters lost it as much as Bryz did. In the game itself, well, that's on Bryz. In the first period we were really screwed over but I felt the Refs kept us in the game in the 3rd.

Actually I thought Eli's body language was bad yesterday and looked frustrated at times. Obviously there are no excuses but someone should send a thank you card to Kyle Williams cause he handed the NYG the game (twice). Not hard to score points when the other team gives you the ball inside the 30 yard line (twice).

Do you think the "boo-boo" Bryz mentioned earlier in the season is affecting him?
- Dkos

Why because of him grimacing? If thats what you are getting at, I noticed that as well... I dont know if it was an actual grimace or more of him just twitching.

I understand what you are saying but take Peytons prime vs Eli's and I think it is a toss up but I'd lean to Peyton. Being biased of course in that decision. hah

Either way, congrats on having your team make it to the Superbowl.

Well the 49ers pass rush knocked the hell out of him the entire second half. He was frustrated he had no time to throw the football.

Not having Ted Ginn hurt the 49ers big time, the ball/puck has a habit of finding guys at the worst moment.

No I won't have to pick a new starting point. I'll judge that game objectively. So obviously an explanation is needed.
- MJL

another words, you'll pick arbitrary starting points to bolster your range-of-the-moment opinions- got it!

Thanks man. And of course making a case for Peyton makes sense, the guy is a first ballot Hall of Famer, and probably a top 10 QB in the history of the NFL.
