Eight rookies?!?!?! That was an impressive game considering that number.

I agree I would like to see him make that save, but it i dont think it was an easy save at all.. hell I think Thomas allowed 3 goals that were weaker.. Personally, I think Gussy needs to do a much better job in that situation..
- jak521

if this werent a recurring theme, there would be more tolerance. the vast majority here are rooting for him to succeed, but it's pure intellectual limbo to defend a .895 sv%. hopefully he's trending upward in his play.

Thomas certainly wasn't great, not sure any of the goals were weak though. Two were deflections and Hartnell's 3 goals were snipes.
- PLindbergh31

Then why do we get on Bryzgalov for deflections? Why is Lucic goal not a snipe? Thats my only issue is Bryz is being crushed for every goal he lets in at this point. Thomas was getting beat short side all game, some of the goals were soft.

He got beat repeatedly on the short side.. Bryz would get killed for that.

I have a serious question. Is any goal given up by a Flyers goalie ever not one that "should have been stopped." And is any goal scored by a Flyers player ever a cheap goal?
- bodiva88

Yes. The goalie should stop every single goal allowed...and every Flyers goal is a 126 MPH blazer that would have caused the goalie's demise had it made contact with his body.

I have to watch it again. Looked like he was slow moving laterally. Whatever the case it trickled through. Can't allow goals like that.

I was rooting for the 9er's last night. In 2 weeks, I will be Team Eli.

I was seriously pissed yesterday that the idiots in the crowd were mock cheering saves by Bryz. (frank)ing clowns.

man...what an exciting game. I thought Bryz was good...except for the SO. The guy should be able to stop one for them for gods sake! Not sure going with Read and Simmons was such a great idea. Maybe Lavy was over-thinking things there trying to go with all righties, as the announcers were suggesting.

Because one guy has a save % of .940, and the other guy has a sub .900 save %. If Bryzgalov was performing at the level of Thomas, or Lundqvist, (which no one expects), he wouldn't get any blame. I don't think questioning goals allowed is roasting the guy, he would be the first person to say he has to play better. I like the fact that he is accountable. I didn't say he was terrible yesterday, just said I wish he would have made a couple more saves.

Entertaining game. Without Briere and Jagr it's not much of a measuring stick, but I'll take the two points.

Incidentally, it's refreshing to enter the opposing team's forum after a game against the Bruins and see them passionately discussing their own team and not talking about how dirty/classless the Bruins are.

It was a great physical playoff like game.. We were without Briere, Jagr, JvR, Rinaldo, and Pronger... If someone would have told me that in the beginning of the season we would have a period of time where they would all be out.. I wouldnt expect much of anything.. but this team hasnt allowed that to keep them down.

It is pretty much consensus in here that the Bruins are the best team in hockey. Come back anytime.

When Bryz wins a cup, gets a couple of Vezina Trophys and a Conn Smythe then we'll let him slide

Giants have beaten Brady and Bellichick 2 games in a row, I just read something that they have never lost to any opponent three straight times. Hurculean task in two weeks.

Well, as soon as somebody defends him, without admitting at the same time he needs to step it up, feel free to blast them.

Bryzgalov has had the worst combination of bad luck, team breakdowns in front of him and shooting himself in the foot I can remember seeing in my time watching the Flyers. There have been guys who were hung out to dry, or simply had bad luck, or who just didn't play well...but Bryzgalov has faced all three things in large amount all season long.

I get ya.. and I agree to an extent.. and I think there have been too many games this year where that has been the case.. just disagree that yesterday was one of them. Hell had it not been for Bryz in the first, that game would have been 5-1.. He had key clutch saves all game long..

I just don't like him because who gets drafted by a NFL team and then demands to be traded? (Rumor is his dad persuaded him but still)

Nope. It's happening today because they lost yesterday and Bryzgalov let in more than one goal.

I think the Giants are better than the Patriots right now.

Its a fallacy when people say its hard to beat a team three times in a row. Especially in the NFL. In actuality, teams that win 2 games against an opponent usually beat them the third time because they are simply better. The Pats will be favored, but the Giants will win.

John Elway did it long before Eli did. And I think what happened with Eli was more Archie then Eli.
