Yes, he was a 5th round pick of them in 2010

What was the worst Stanley Cup match up in recent years. I'm going to go with 2002.
- Schenn2shine

It wasn't so recent but I was not remotely interested in Detroit and Washington in '98.

If i was homer I would do a deal for suter or weber for a couple forwards (ie jvr, read) and picks and then i would trade carle for a couple forwards or picks to another team =)
- Jack-Meoff

I fear there is too much uncertainty on forwards health (Briere, Jagr, JVR) at the moment to negotiate from a position of strength.

These injuries are handcuffing Holmer at the worst possible time.

I think that the Flyers need to sit this year out of FA markets unless a small deal to bolster D can be had for cheap.

In terms of quality of play - or just strictly the teams matched up?

What part of "I've sat down with state senators and state reps and told them I disagree" didn't you get? Even at the top of the food chain they are politicians, ostensibly there to serve the interests of the citizens. If you allow the label "politician" to intimidate you into not speaking your mind, that is a damn shame. Whatever party/political philosophy you espouse, politicians are just people, there to put forth legislation that affects the citizens. You, me, and every citizen in this nation has the right to express your views to a politician. Again, I respect the office, so I obviously wouldn't say "Hey George you suck donkey balls" but as a citizen I'd be remiss not to express my views if I have his ear. He is a public servant.

In terms of players and the team itself, the Canes never took a chance with what Detroit had.

I'd put 2007 up there. It was an intriguing match-up on paper, but Ottawa never had a sniff in that series.

I actually enjoyed this series very much. We all knew the skill Iginla had but this was his coming out party of how clutch a player he could be. A side from Kipper, Iginla really carried that team on his back.

Peter Chiarelli said Nathan Horton was diagnosed with what he thought was a "mild concussion" stemming from Sunday's Tom Sestito head shot.

The 97' Cup Finals was one of the most lop sided series I have seen.

I could agree if the Ducks weren't named the Ducks. I certainly felt like the Ottawa had the right to be there, it's just that the Ducks had the benefit of good goaltending, plus having both Pronger and Neidermayer.

Yeah but it was a good match up. Look at it this way. Good match up, bad series. That's how I view 97.

flyers were robbed because of their injuries. flames were robbed of the cup on a bad non-goal call. no doubt in my mind that puck crossed the line.

It did cross the line. It was proven.

A flyers/Flames match up would have been amazing, the Flames never would have stood a chance.

I was thinking the same thing. Would think they would err on the side of caution being that Rome knocked Horton silly in the SCF. I despise Horton.

It was also at the peak of the unwatchable hockey era.
