You might be right. Was just answering your original question. The Phillies are the closest team in Philadelphia to winning a Championship imo. And it's not even all that close.

The Marlins?
- MBFlyerfan

Marlins and Braves would be the two choices. St. Louis and Milwaukee have both lost their best player, the NL West is awful. Mets, Cubs? Brutal.

Not sure what your talking about, the carcillo-Betts-Lappy line was shut-down. Really good defensively.

I was referring to our current "energy players"...Rinaldo, Harry Z, Shelley...etc.

Well Carcillo, Lappy and Betts were all veterans, at least two of whom had been used in defensive and checking line roles for years. The Flyers 4th line has been a hodgepodge of rookies and enforcers.

It was nice to see the fire and energy that the team had yesterday, despite missing Briere, Jagr, and JVR. Even if though the players that were out haven't been hot of late, having 3 experienced forwards out can really take it's toll against a team like Boston.

Bryzgalov had a hot and cold game. Thought he was great at times and ok at others. Not really too concerned or upset about losing the shoot-out as I hate that the game gets decided that way, but I am disappointed that the Flyers had to keep coming back and hang in the game when they had opportunities to take control.

Oh, and Hartnell is absolutely on fire right now.

I was seriously pissed yesterday that the idiots in the crowd were mock cheering saves by Bryz. (frank)ing clowns.
- jak521

They need to enter a special clown level of hell with Frank Seravalli, whose Tweet yesterday was superbly classless and unprofessional.

The Gordie Howe for gaolies in one period; an assist, a penalty, and three goals agains. Well done.

it's preposterous, is what it is. they have 1 or 2 HD games a night - that's it. what's the reason? does it cost them more to broadcast the HD feed?
- hammarby31

I don't know which Center Ice you're getting but just about EVERY game I get on Directv Center Ice is in HD except for non-Toronto Canadian feeds.

yea, what I was saying is I would like them to create an energy line, as they dont really have an effective checking/energy line right now.

To me that means keeping both Scehnn and Couturier off the 4th line, and putting Talbot down there.

I would like:
Sestito-Talbot-Rinaldo if there is a trade and we can move Zulnerczyk to a 3rd line.

Or

Harry Z-Talbot-Rinaldo if there is no trade.

Thanksgiving has come and gone and that guy is still in Orange and Black. Whoda thunk it

Thank goodness he is. Sometimes the best moves a GM makes are those that he doesn't make.

And he's on today saying he doesn't care if Bryz talks to the press but blah blah blah about Saturday's scrum and I'm thinking, at what point do you pay attention to the question and its tone when you consider how a guy reacts? Buffoons all of them. I don't want the media to be all sweetness and light, but I'd like them to cover the damned sport, not try to stir up reality tv style idiocy.

I wouldn't follow any of those clowns for all the tea in China. Not sure if this tweet is classless, or unprofessional, I think Seravalli just fails miserably at trying to be witty.

I honestly think the editors at the DN and Inky want that drama thinking it increases readership hits, not realizing there is a huge untapped market for legitimate sports reporting out here.

Yeah and the Giants are slated to possibly win their 3rd Superbowl since I was in High School (Eagles have never won one). Rangers have also won a Stanley Cup in 1994, I won't even get in to all of the Yankee WS wins. Penguins have won 3 Stanley cups along with a pair of Steelers Superbowl wins.

Contrast with Philly's appearance and loss in the Superbowl, numerous defeats in the Stanley Cup finals and going 1-2 in the WS.

One championship win going back to the Sixers 1983 win.

- Pixote Andolini

What astonishes me of late is Boston's track record since 2000. What 3 Super bowls from the Pats and another trip to the SB as well as this year. 2 WS wins from the Sox, Celtics win and go back to the finals and the Bruins win the cup last year. Amazing run for that city.

Boston fans must be broke from buying all the championship t shirts and hats.

note: a problem I'd like to have!

I was saying that I don't care how much "energy" they generate if they are going to give up goals. Harry Z plays with a lot of energy, but he's a -12. Sestito seems to skate OK, but I'm not going to put him out there on the PK. I know the Flyers roster is what it is and they have to make do with what they have. I'm just saying I don't care for players who don't contribute to either scoring or stopping the other team from scoring. I miss Lappy and Betts...love Talbot.
