Hopefully the Union...I'd love to wear a shirt that says BIMBO on it with pride.

Who is most likely to be in the finals first? Eagles, Flyers, Sixers, or Phillies?
- stveshdy

With Halladay, Lee, Hamels its the Phillies by a landslide.

IMO an energy line is a line that goes out there, hits everything that moves, might fight if need be... Its a line that when the building is quiet, you put them out there and after about 30 seconds the fans are cheering at the top of thier lungs...

Like the Carcillo-Betts-Lappy line a few years ago.

The pitching doesnt worry me at all. The Phillies bats are what concerns me bc they always seem to go cold when it matters most.

I don't really follow soccer, I just think it's funny that their jersey says bimbo.

logic would say the phillies, but i'm not so sure they rebound. they've taken a step back in the playoffs every year since their WS title. Sixers seem to be on fire, but they don't have a superstar and popular opinion says they can't win without one.

i want it to be the flyers. badly. they're always in the mix, so you never know.

Well with Pujols gone from St. Louis, and Fielder likely gone from Milwaukee who exactly in the National League is the challenge for the Phils?

Phillies will go down for the exact same reason they did last year. Can't produce runs.

If I had to choose the next to win I'd say Flyers, but I've been saying that since I was a kid.

Bimbo breads -- which I never saw until I was in Texas -- is all over the place down there. Very popular brand among Mexican-Americans. And, yes, it is "beembo".

I think the Phillies division is going to be good this year. The team that has a good chance is the Atlanta Braves. They were young last year and they have great pitching. You never know what teams will step up.

phillies have been to the WS twice and flyers to the cup once since '08. not too bad.
- hammarby31

Yeah and the Giants are slated to possibly win their 3rd Superbowl since I was in High School (Eagles have never won one). Rangers have also won a Stanley Cup in 1994, I won't even get in to all of the Yankee WS wins. Penguins have won 3 Stanley cups along with a pair of Steelers Superbowl wins.

Contrast with Philly's appearance and loss in the Superbowl, numerous defeats in the Stanley Cup finals and going 1-2 in the WS.

One championship win going back to the Sixers 1983 win.

I think it just means bread

EDIT: wiki says it's just a brand name and doesn't really mean anything in Spanish. Sort of like when Chevy was trying to sell the Nova in Mexico. Nova means "doesn't go" in Spanish. Not a good name for a car.

Braves and Marlins will be improved, I still don't think they are in the Phillies class.

The Reds are going to be a monster team this year. Braves, Marlins & Nats should all be better teams this year as well.

Dude, the Phillies won it in 2008.

Edit: I see what you were saying. 1 win since 1983. Yep, it's frustrating....

I actually think the Phillies are on the decline. I like their pitching alot but the hitting is going to be the difference. They struggle whenever they have to face good pitching. They cant produce runs without the long ball and thats a concern heading into the season. They have Polanco, Utley, Rollins, and now Howard who cant make it through an entire season without missing a decent chunk of games.

You might be right. Was just answering your original question. The Phillies are the closest team in Philadelphia to winning a Championship imo. And it's not even all that close.

Not sure what your talking about, the carcillo-Betts-Lappy line was shut-down. Really good defensively.

They are. Certainly from an offensive standpoint. Howard, Rollins and Utley are clearly not who they used to be as hitters. Polanco is beat up all too often. And while Pence was a nice edition they really don't have anyone else coming up that is a big offensive threat.
