I'll bet Mexico City could get at least 12,000 fans into a game.

Why in (frank)s sake would the isles even think about trading Tavares? This post is moronic
- Isles316

gives people something to talk about, this is the main thread where people just make up trades before people like shinebox, bonzo, rc, and others talk about regular day stuff, what they are going to drink, risk, etc

Quebec city.

Actually the Islanders have a very good fanbase but that fanbase has been through almost 20yrs of horrible ownership plus Nassau is doing NOTHING for them. I watched the Islanders from day 1 and watched them grow into a 4-time stanley cup champions and there were fans everywhere. Ranger/Islander games were crazy back in the 70's/80's. Most Islander fans (like Jets fans) are from the Island and the Isladers don't have the big city to bail them out when things go bad like the Rangers/Knicks do. I believe once the Islanders get a NEW arena, the fans will show even if they are not a playoff team....which I will say they getting very close to becoming one. Quebec will get the team from the Sun. Islanders will be in NY (either in Nassau or Brooklyn)

This is my guess where they will be

well at least buffalo can say they have made the playoffs lately and not in the basement season after season, so if your going to talk about other teams in recent years it usually helps if your team is better over that period

I could see something like this...

To Philly - Weber
To Nashville - Taveres, Matt Carle, and NYI 1st
To NYI - Philly 1st and 2nd, Jonathan Blum, Nashville Goalie Prospect Jeremy Smith, and JVR

- dgutzman

So we give up our franchise player and a potential top 10 first round pick for a late first, a late second, a good defensive prospect, a goaltending prospecting we don't need and a constantly injured foward?

Or we could just keep Tavares and our first round pick and take one of the many talented defensive prospects in this years draft.

Then don't knock the isles or suggest they may move. You like it when the bills are talked about that way?

bills can move to toronto for all i care

and i make fun and want my teams qb out ASAP

the isles have ALOT to do before they make the playoffs, and no one knows what will happen with the islanders, if they will stay or not, its not mocking when there is a decent chance they could be moved and even you cant deny that

Isles are closer than you think to playoffs. Is there a chance they move? Yes. But I don't think the NHL will let that happen. The county would lose millions in tax revenue. They have been pushing them to stay. The town the coliseum is in is the issue

I don't get the consensus that everyone hates being on the islanders. All the young players we have love it here and have signed on long term. Franz Neilson is next, then parenteau. Feel bad for Tavares all you want but he loves it here. He signed a 6 year extension a year before he had too just to shut everyone up. Ask his teammates, they will tell you that.

how are they closer to the playoffs than i think?

they have 1 very good line, but other than that there really is nothing, the line goes cold then the isles are (frank)ed

look at florida, they have 1 strong line that was going very very well it has slowed down but they have that good D behind them and have more stable goaltending and if it wasnt for the caps slow start then the panthers would be 7-8 (and if caps win today florida moves to 7-8

the isles are young and other teams are struggling mightily (tampa, carolina) so im not sure that the isles are close to the playoffs in the next year or 2

Because Tavares is a superstar #1. And they have young players who are only going to get much better. They will close the gap on Florida and the devils and be in it late in the year.
