I could see something like this...

To Philly - Weber
To Nashville - Taveres, Matt Carle, and NYI 1st
To NYI - Philly 1st and 2nd, Jonathan Blum, Nashville Goalie Prospect Jeremy Smith, and JVR

My equilibrium is off kilter today. Ek has thrown the power of rumors into a stratosphere of confusion, conjecture and has warped the human brain to an endless cycle........or did Regier do that? I am so lost......

Tavares is going no where. Hes an Islander forever.
- mighty13duck

He may be an Islander forever, but I am guessing at some point, he will wonder how he will explain to his kids that he played 20 years and never went to the playoffs.

He loves Long Island. he loves his team mates. Just signed a big deal and is completely rolling. Snow would never trade him.

With Tavares on this team playoffs may actually happen this year. If not next year without a doubt.

I never said not this year. We still have a chance. We got Strome on the way for 2nd line center. Lots of depth up front. The defense is the only thing that needs work.

It amazes me how all these team that have never won the cup laugh at dynasty teams. We could suck for the next ten years but we still have those cups

Being a Flyer fan I know it sounds out to lunch but that seems pretty accurate! How much will other teams pay for the BEST D man in the league??
- undisputed_8821

It will be interesting to see. But giving up one of the better offensive players in the league PLUS another player and a pick? Homer would have to be...

Let's contrast the 2:

1) Nashville has a newer barn, the Isles have a barn that smells like dust, must, piss, and sweat
2) Nashville has a growing fan base that has sold out 10 of the last 11 games, NYI doesn't
3) Tennessee has no state income tax, NY has, well, NY taxes
4) Nashville has been in the playoffs 6 of the last 7 years and made it to the 2nd round last year. NYI, well, no so much
5) Nashville has the youngest team in the league, great prospects in the pipeline, and is still considered one of the top 10 teams in the leauge. Isles, well, not so much
6) NYI spends even less per year then Nashville
7) Nashville has Pekka Rinne..NYI has Rick DiPietro (and lets not forget 3 more years of Alexie Yashen eating up cap space)

I assure that The Nassau Coliseum does not smell. But yes it could use a little dusting. We have a huge fanbase. do not be fooled by the whole sell out thing. NY teams never do well when the team is rebuilding.

1.Islanders 4 Cups
2.a fan base
3.An owner willing to spend money!
4. Is in New York not butt(frank) USA
5. Get to watch Knicks. Nets, Jets, Giants, Nets and a host of other sports teams.

Good list though!!

So your saying that NY teams are supported totally by fairweather fans? Oh I see. That explains why the Rangers have been near the top of the league in attendance over the rough years. But more to the point, how many years are the Isles planning on rebuilding? Is this the Wang 20 year plan?
