There are 2 problems with all of the Weber/Suter trade rumors.

1) Poile is not going to trade either of them at the trade deadline unless he gets a fools ransom for them and enough in return to remain competitive this year, and build for the future.

2) Teams looking to add Weber and Suter for a deep playoff run are not going to give Poile a fools ransom, unless it is draft picks and prospects. This is because contending teams are not going to give up key pieces of their team. Furthermore, they can't give up draft picks because they are not high draft picks.

In my opionion, if Weber or Suter are traded, it will be to a team that is rebuilding and looking to make a big splash. The challenge is they will have to move fast as Weber/Suter want to be in the Cup Finals now, not 3 or 4 years down the road. Compounding the problem, Weber and Suter are arguable both in the top 5 free agents. Overall, however, this years free agent class is the weakest in years. The draft, however, may be one of the deepest in years, so early draft picks are key.

Malone doesn't command that much but a team looking to make the finals and win a Cup has to pay to get holes filled! He is the perfect fit for a Vancouver club looking for size and scoring!

I highly doubt Tavares is moving anywhere especially for a package of Kadri (bust) Aulie (4th pairing D) and a mid level 1st rounder! Tavares will get more than 1 first rounder (based on age) and a better set than Kadri and Aulie! Who is your source? JoJo the psychic?

Flyers fans will laught, but they forget that they gave up 2 1sts and 2 former 1st round picks for Pronger. Weber is younger and has more upside.
