I like the Islanders .

At the end of last season , I thought and hoped they were on to something .

They were a very exciting team to watch last year for sure .

I hope good things for you and your Islanders.

The Sabres, well , they are team that has quit .

You watch the games and there is no denying that.

Something is going on in that locker room , there is NO accountability at all .

Even when Goose just got ran into the boards and was injured , not one Sabres did anything to help a guy that has stuck his neck out for every player on this team at least once !

No leadership in that room , they lost that when they lost Grier and Nieds in the off season .!

how are they closer to the playoffs than i think?

they have 1 very good line, but other than that there really is nothing, the line goes cold then the isles are (frank)ed

look at florida, they have 1 strong line that was going very very well it has slowed down but they have that good D behind them and have more stable goaltending and if it wasnt for the caps slow start then the panthers would be 7-8 (and if caps win today florida moves to 7-8

the isles are young and other teams are struggling mightily (tampa, carolina) so im not sure that the isles are close to the playoffs in the next year or 2

Islanders goaltending has been mostly consistent recently, and it's showed in the results of games. He came within just under half a period of putting up 2 consecutive shut-outs against quality, playoff teams last week.

To say the Isles have one strong line and nothing else is a bit of an overstatement. Do the other lines produce at the rate the MM-JT-KO line do? No way, but they aren't incapable of providing secondary scoring support.

Not to mention the Isles are in the top 10 in the league in both PP/PK (PP - 6th, PK- 8th). In fact they have only allowed one goal on the PK since Christmas. The playoffs are entirely a possibility for the Islanders. Am I saying it's a lock? Hell no, but they are 8 pts out of the playoffs, and 7 behind the 9th place Leafs with a huge home-and-home coming up with them. Not to mention that they have the second fewest games played in the entire Eastern Conference.

Don't want Malone, too expensive and injury prone.

Big day today bro, about to get some chili cooking. I still have a few beers left and I plan on drinking those up pretty quickly too.

He's all but definitely done for the season after injuring himself deplaning a team flight. That's not a joke either. I believe they said MAYBE end of April if the surgery rehab/recovery goes well, but we are talking about a guy held together with paper clips and rubber bands so I highly doubt that's likely. He'll tear something sneezing when the flowers start blooming in Spring.

If Grabner can get going then this team will be scary. He has 14 goals in the first half with a very slow start. If the guy gets the firepower back like last year we got more than secondary scoring.

I wish. I'm trying to stick to a dozen a week these days. I need to eliminate some debt and spending $100-$150/week on booze just won't cut it. Of course, I'll spring for extra for the SB.

i'm going for the g-men and the ravens.

but my prediction is a re-match for the superbowl. where's tyree?

and i've been watching SOA. i finished the 2nd season and a few episodes of the third. it's definitely getting better. (i think the 5th season of the shield is when it gets really good. when forrest whittaker arrives, it gets intense).
