it was an exciting regular season game. great to see their physical play, battle back from an early deficit, and then again in the 3rd after they lost the lead. hartnell was spectacular.

Nice to see Roo and Hartnell step up. In my mind this was a coming out party for one Brayden Schenn. He didnt point but he did nearly everything right out on the ice and proved that he can slug it out with this team.

Just on a side note Danny Briere was not missed in the slightest today....except for the shootout. If the Flyers aren't going to trade Coots or Schenn, there needs to be some kind of plan this summer with regards to Briere.

Lucic goal was dreadful, he even admitted it. Said he just missed it and deflected it into his own net

Today was a big game, it would have been if he played really well, he didn't.

i agree. i hated that 3rd goal. didn't love the fifth one either. the others i can live with.

i'd like to see him go again. won't be surprised if bob plays though.
- hammarby31

I would kind of be suprised. Lava has pretty much played Bob against below avg teams. The Cats are currently in the playoffs, I think he plays him. Bryz did help them get 3 out of 4 points this weekend.

Edwards was wonderful today.

called Bryz a sieve

Said the Sestito hit was a totally head shot and very late and should be suspended

Said Hartnell's hit on Kelly was also a headshot and tells you what type of player he is

There is more but that's off the top of my head

Different year, same story...

UGH it pisses me off to no end that we're still having the same convo about Flyers goaltending.

So much for thinking that giving a guy 9 years and 51 mill would've changed that.

I disagree that it was dreadful. Top of the circle through a screen. The shot had a lot on it and was well placed. I have no problem with that goal.

briere just isn't much of a factor in the regular season for some reason, but he elevates his game in the playoffs. i'll take the tradeoff with a player or two. can't have that across the whole team or you won't even make the dance.

i can't see couturier or schenn being moved - unless they land suter or weber this season, and i don't see that happening either.

schenn was great today. should really boost his confidence. he's got a lot of speed and i loved seeing him drive the net from the boards. i was worried when i saw him get nailed from behind by thornton. preposterous non-call.

I actually enjoyed Edwards call a game on ESPN, now not so much. It was hiliarous how they first called Hartnell's hit a head shot, but then backtracked and said it was shoulder to shoulder, but you can tell what kind of player he was for trying to check the man and not go for the puck. Absolutely comical.

By the way, I loved how this team physically met the challenge and punched the Bruins in the mouth.

This is just like the posts back in 09/10 that we didn't need Carter in the playoffs. We need Briere. He is a top playoff performer. And one of the team's best offensive players. I don't understand the logic of not needing one of your players. I guess we don't need Jagr or JVR, so let's trade them also.

did he have anything to say about thornton's x-check cheap shot to schenn's back?

edwards is a disgrace.

Bryzgalov said he was not screened.

“The puck hit me in the blocker … I wanted to put the puck in the corner and I deflected my blocker for the high angle and I deflected the puck on my own net,” Bryzgalov said.

There is a plan with Briere. Keep him. It's not going to hurt Couturier or Schenn to play 3rd line or wing for a season or three.

I thought they stepped up and then some.

Gotta win that game to say yes we did it IMO, close but not quite. Heck of game and when you get 5 past Tim Thomas and the Bruins you need to win.

The replay clearly shows the shot was through Timonen. I appreciate him blaming himself, but I don't view it as a bad goal. Bill thought the same thing as he said earlier. It was a hard, well placed, well timed shot curling in front.

you guys do know he made more saves than Thomas and Thomas gave up as many goals against a Flyers team boasting as many rookies/ AHL call ups, right? Oh yea and the third goal came off a non call penalty.

Thomas let in a similar goal that got past Bryzgalov on one of Hartnell's goals. From about the same distance. Thomas got a piece of it, but it got buy him.
