However, tomorrows fan dialogue will be that Bryz sucked.

it was a good test for bryz to play back to back, but he's used to playing 65+ games a year, so it shouldn't have been an issue. thomas was beyond fortunate today that the basket full of rebounds that he punted out were just out of reach of the flyers sticks all day.
- hammarby31

I thought Bryz played as well as Thomas did today. Every goalie looks average if the defense isnt up to par. Todays game was dominated with offensive chances for both teams.

I think if they lost 1-0 he'd get roasted.
Edit:
If people go back and check the Flyers lost a similar game to the bruins 7-5 last year with Boucher in net. I'm sorry but he's an upgrade over what we had, he made a lot of big saves, but when you play with fire you're gonna get burnt, he made more saves than Thomas and The Bruins chances were as equally as good as what the Flyers had. Finally, no Leon Stickle poop and we win this game.

- JoeRussomanno

I agree but some will moan and whine about Bryz, Even if he won the Flyers a cup

All anyone has to do is go to the Highlights of the game and see the save highlights and some of the key saves he made at key times in the game. He was a big part of the Flyers getting a point today. But some will ask you what your smokin when you state the reality.
- MJL

Apparently they'll have to ask Bill the same thing

I was thinking the same thing, and I said to myself well he's a Rookie trying to make things happen. Then on the same PP, Voracek tried to do the same thing.
- MJL

yep. they needed to just get in the zone and set up. too much individual play at the end there. wish schenn had gotten some points to show for his effort. today was the first time i really got a look at what he brings to the table, and i loved it.

Not by extending the groin, more rotation from the hip. The top of the pads stay together, less V shape and more horizontal postioning.

I was thinking that if we had Gleason or Gill in the back it would of been a little better . I dont wanna trade any piece tho to make it happen

Its a losing battle with some types of people no matter what the evidence. This is why we have people saying Schenn is a bust, Carle sucks, and clamoring to trade Hartnell 8 games in to the season.

They believe what they believe regardless.

Agreed. I like how he battled today. Wasn't about the stats today. I'd like for him to have come up with either the Seguin goal that was chipped over his glove or that wraparound goal but he also made his share of difficult saves at key teams as well.
- bmeltzer

the point blank save he made late in the first off the pp turnover in their own end was huge. if that goes in they likely have little fire the rest of the way, and also likely that bob comes in.

And another thing, there's been a lot of talk about the Flyers not having enough grit in the lineup. What did today show? Like I've always maintained, they have plenty of grit in the lineup.

he turns his legs in parallel when he butterflies a lot, especially on deflections, and he gives up the corners of the net. definitely needs to work on that.
- hammarby31

exactly. Its difficult to move that way, but if its too late in the season to work on the flexibility needed, then it becomes a priority in the off season workout.

NO need, I skip 2Real and Plind anyway, so it wouldnt matter, (Im only guessing those were the culprits.

I was out watching the game in a restaurant with no sound. Any mention as to what Lavi was thinking with his shootout choices?

Plind is out watching the Giants game, if they lose he'll be on later with 5 pages of Bryzgalov hatred that's for sure

My only concern is if you were to play Boston in a seven game series can the Flyers defense hold up playing two rookies (Bourdon and Gustafsson).

it is a flexibility thing. he certainly has it while moving laterally and can get his leg extended far and keep it flat...but he struggles on the butterfly. bob keeps his pads out when he goes down very well.

Read and Giroux I can understand. Simmonds is a puzzling choice. So to speculate it's one of two things. Either based on results in practice. Or rewarding Simmonds for his play. He has been a horse along the wall, and at the net, and was the same in today's game.

In defense of cough those people, Sestito hasn't been in the lineup all year either But yea, I feel good about this game I really do despite the outcome. I feel even better about our chances in a series against Boston than I did 5 weeks ago that's for sure.
