not surprised briere got injured, he took a heck of a beating last night...i dont know if the devils targeted him but it seemed everythime he was on the ice he took some kind of hard hit and was roughed up.

then that guy twice his size wanted to fight him, not sure what he did but it was obvious he was a target in my mind.

i feel really bad for him because hes not that kind of player who would go after some one with intention to injure like volchenkoz did to hime last night, i can remember 3 instances where a-train nailed him good.

Read missed time in late October-early November with a concussion.

I don't know where the Flyers would be with out Read.

Just a stellar signing by the Flyers.

More importantly, and I guess Briere is the only one who can answer this. But when did he start feeling poorly? During the game, in the first period, when? Because if he knew he wasn't right, and continued to play, without telling the trainers, then that's a big deal. Because taking more hits after sustaining a concussion seems to make things worse.

i actually watched the game again last night to specifically focus on him. he looked normal (to my untrained eye) whenever i could get a good look at him. but he didn't look right after the hit pictured on the previous page. either way it's not good, he took a LOT of sticks and shoulders in one game.

Nope. Briere's the kind of player that would stick somebody in the face, not run him.

Briere has been suspended a couple of times for some dirty stickwork.

briere's gentle elbow to brodeur made him a target the rest of the game

A few times during the game I was thinking how much you would have been enjoying the game, mostly when I heard a "Go Flyers Go" chant and when half the crowd was up cheering at the end of the game.

Talk about owning a building, that's embarrassing for the Devils IMO.

you beat mjl, i remember a few of those instances...in a way im not happy briere got hurt, but glad at the timing so we will have sestito in the line up against boston, i hope we see rinaldo, sestito and this hurts me to sat but also shelly.

He's no angel.

Nick Kypreos swears Briere scores big goals because players are worried he'll stick them in the face. I've heard him mention it a few times. Not negatively either.

Kypreos said if Briere has to carve your eye out to score a goal so be it, he'll do it not think twice

I'd rather have Briere in the lineup, rather then Sestito or any of those other players. There is nothing that happened that makes me glad that Sestito is in the lineup.

I worry about Sestito trying to do too much.

The Bruins are a big tough team but very smart and they'll take it to you and sucker players in (as you know) gotta play smart and hard today.

Three keys to the game IMO

1. Bryz needs to be great, assuming he starts

2. ton of traffic in front of Thomas

3. play smart

No I won't be happy. Briere has far more of a chance to have a big impact on the game then Sestito does. But I support the optimism.

I'm going to be happy when he takes a major boarding penalty causing the Flyers 2 points

I'd love if he played smart and hammered a few guys with tough hard hits.

If he fight I'd be thrilled because he'd be taking a better player with him. He needs to be careful, the Bruins have some tough bastards (Chara,Thornton,McQuaid) can all throw down

I missed it?

I watched the game and was very happy with his game, I thought he was very good and had no chance at all on Ponyboy's goal.
