Missed pick or not, the score shouldn't be 3-1. That is a puck Bryzgalov HAS to stop.
- BoomGoesTheCoburn

Bryz could of made the save on the third goal (nice shot), the other two are not his fault. The defensive breakdowns are terrible. First goal Bourdon has to pinch that winger against the boards. Second goal Giroux and another Flyer are just coasting around and nobody picks up the Bruin in front of the net. Have to play tighter defense.

Your talking about the Lucic goal? That was a perfect shot into the top corner.
- MJL

yeah, it was a nice shot. bryz played it poorly.

It was a great shot, no doubt. However, you'd like to see Bryzgalov make that save.

there have been a lot of redfaced moments.. not sure which one you wanted
- Don'tForgetTocchet

The Flyers came out flying and I thought they really stayed with the Bruins. The Refs are (frank)ing the whole thing up. I think the league should put in a call to the Refs dressing room, that's how bad I think they've been.

and they turned it over point blank on the late pp. could be 4-1. he made a huge save. they're doing that pretty much every single game. it has to stop.

I don't have a problem with it. It would have been a tough save. It had a lot on it in a perfect location. Sometimes have to give credit to the shooter.

Oh, by no means am I saying Bryzgalov is to blame for the score being 3-1. There have been far too many turnovers - and the play has been sloppy in general. He's made a handful of really nice stops, I just wish the Lucic shot was one of them.

That didn't even look like a really hard shot either, i think Bryz wasn't exactly squar to lucic and left him too much open space.

How come Couturier made that shot for five games in a row on some notable goalies too and no one wanted to say "soft Goal". Sorry but advantage is to the shooter everytime and he made a bunch of open shooter saves in that period. Eventually the odds start working against you. How many chances like that did Boston give up? It was a breakdown off a missed interference call it should have never happened, end of story.

I think the Flyers were very fired up to start the game. Lots of intensity. They just need to keep that and add a little focus and smarter play, and see what happens.

can't give up that goal, in that situation. the flyers like to spot the bruins 3 goals in the first period a lot. very frustrating.
- hammarby31

It's almost like the Bruins don't have to work hard to score. They don't earn them and it's frustrating.

Agreed. There is a lot of game left. They need to keep the pace, while making smarter decisions with the puck. Time to buckle down and send these Boston (frank)'s packing.

I think he was too far back in his net personally. Good shot, but we needed that save. Maybe it was a screen not sure.. i'll have to see it again.

Tough first period. Lots of bad calls, but also lots of bad defense by the Flyers again.

Score would be about 6-1 already if not for Bryz. Really don't see how he can be faulted on any of the goals. Especially after so many other 10 bell saves in the period.

I suppose if you really want to nitpick, you can say he should have had the third one, but Lucic picked the corner perfectly. It was a great shot, and probably beats most goalies, especially when he's allowed to just cruise into the slot and fire at will. Say what you want about the pick play that wasn't called, but there were still two other Flyers back that could have checked Lucic and did not.

And wow, what a hit by Schenn! Textbook. Loved that, but aside from the great saves by Bryz, there wasn't a whole lot else to like from the Flyers in that period. Hopefully they'll be better in the 2nd.

I just watched it two or three times...I don't even think Bryzgalov saw it until it was past him. It was a great shot.

So Marchant bumps our goalie, which is a no-no and Bryz gets the rough for getting upset? Miller was pretty upset when Licic and Tootoo bumped him, did Millar get a rough then?Wha

t the heck was that Voracek call all about?

The Flyers were up in arms about the missed call as well, he could have been momentarily distracted by the commotion at the blueline.

1. That hit by Schenn was maybe the best hit of the year for the Flyers
2. Bryz showing passion in net was a great thing to see
3. These refs have been an absolute joke

I'm not usually one to complain about officiating. But very poor in that period. No doubt that Marchand purposely took at shot at Bryz. Voracek call, no explanation for that. Terrible.

You mean the pick by Horton on Coburn. Ridiculous that the official missed that when he was standing right in front of it.

Zebras trying to give the game to the Bruins. Easily some of the worst calls of the year and HOW do they miss Hortons blatant pick that directly led to the third goal. These two are amateur as always.

I don't fault him on either of the first two goals.. I think he could have had the third. Its done.. he needs to shut the door now for the rest of the game to give us a chance. Hard to score 4 on Tim the toolman Thomas.

Sums it up nicely
@billmeltzer: Was told in pressbox verbatim "Chris Rooney is one of those refs that was called up too soon from AHL. Calls a lot of BS and mouthy, too."
