All I know is the Bruins called a team meeting for 9pm tonight.

The meeting is strictly about the Shelley/Holmstrom/Sestito line and how will they shut them down. I assume Chara will be in the ice against them every shift, only way to counter it.

I remember at the 7:20 mark of the 3rd when Kovey got the puck over the glass penalty Briere was face down beside Brodeur and he was hurt.

I had the Devils feed which is atrocious and they didn't show a replay or mention it, not sure what happened there is.

Let's hope he's back healthy after the ASG

They just showed Briere getting hit hard twice on NHL Network. Once by Volchenkov, then by Fayne. He also get punched in the face by Elias towards the end of the game.

Jagr said he injured his groin because the ice in NJ was bad. Said it was worse this time then the others.

and yet was one of those called?

I think with Jagr we have to expect him being in and out of the lineup for the rest of his career

I see where your going with this and Id like to see the Flyers get Gleason but not at the cost of a Roster player. Gleason is young and a solid nasty guy on the blue line. In the offseason you never know tho, once the playoffs start anyone can win
- bigmookalookie

Gleason is 28, I see, so not that young, but yes, I would not mind giving the D a tougher, nastier identity. I am assuming Pronger is done. In the playoffs, the teams will dump the puck in and take runs at Kimmo, which is what used to happen before last season, and eventually that will take its toll. Also, the ability to clear the crease by just making it a nasty place to be without drawing the egregious cross-checking penalty. No one in our current D is good at that.

The other alternative is for our forwards to completely change their game and play a dogged, hounding kind of back-checking game, but honestly, I don't see that happening with the current crew.

When Jagr signed, I questioned his durability because 1. he's 39, and 2. He hasn't played an 82 game schedule in years.

I hate the fact he rushes back and leaves his team shorthanded in game constantly.

Laviolette constantly uses fourth line players immediately after getting a 2 goal lead, and he gets burned every time. It has to stop.
- PLindbergh31

Really? Every time huh? Yet they still won 4-1. Seems counter to your point doesn't it?

If you don't think the Flyers give up a ton of goals a minute or less after taking a 2 goal lead, you are watching different games then I am.

i just saw that, and that briere is now concussed. holmstrom/sestito now. this is just un(frank)ingbelievable.

i swear, sometimes it's hard not think the franchise is cursed.

in any event, i was shocked to see the team actually respond after lava's timeout, but glad that it happened. they played a solid game from there on out and deserved the win. nice to see them bounce back after the poop show on thursday, and bryz played well especially. they should be plenty motivated to beat boston, but the bruins will come in with a chip on their shoulder after losing today with 3 seconds left in OT.

jagr just needs to sit for several weeks. stop this nonsense now.

i hope danny's ok. time for the kids to keep doing their thing.

go the flyers!

the 4th line was back on the ice immediately after hartnell's goal to make it 3-1...didn't cost them that time though.

I know. I wanted to tear my hair out of my head. I was making an observation that it happens constantly. The Winter Classic being a prime example.

i ended up not going. too much of a megilla to drive out to my dad's at the shore from philly and then up to newark with the weather today. it was still raining/sleeting here all morning. stayed home. part of my motivation was that i felt i'd jinx the team if i went today. i'd happily trade my presence for a win any day of the week.

Yep. I like Laviolette, overall he's done a great job. Some things like the 4th line on the ice after taking a 2 goal lead, and a forward on the point on the PP are issues with him.

we would have to bring the 2 little ones to my dad's as well. just not worth the stress. i've seen way too many losses in east rutherford to bother with a weather day like today.

and not breaking up the top line which has been struggling for a few weeks. last year he changed lines constantly. this year, he seems reluctant to do so.
