Vishnovsky is the superior player, but also has the bigger hit.

true and true. Which would you rather have right now? If they cost the same in a trade?

Feel your pain, man.

It's just unreal. One after another. How many Penguins have been concussed this year. I know obviously Crosby and Letang. Who else?

Lydman. Both are signed thru next year, but the smaller hit makes Lydman more attractive to me.

Yeah has to be a week. JvR can be retro'd back to his last game, so if he's ready to go against Florida, he could.
- Jsaquella

Oh ok. I didn't know a played could be reto'd like the DL in baseball. I don't think JVR is even skating yet, so he would probably be unlikely for the Florida game. All-star game couldn't have come at a better time.

You know who looked solid out there today, E-Gus. The kid can play.

Yeah, no kidding...they need a break.

As long as the guy doesn't play, he can be retro'd...It is unbelievable.

It dampens my desire to make a trade now, unless I can get Gleason or somebody for picks...I'm not trading a roster guy.

Gus has looked very good since returning. Very impressed with his skating, stickhandling and cool under pressuer.

This was posted just a few pages back.

Dave Isaac says Briere was hit twice and then punched by Elias in the closing seconds

- MJL

Early in the first clarkson lowered his head and hit briere in the face area with his helmet. Right before briere ended up taking a penalty. HappeNed right in front of me.

It is depressing. All the injuries take the enjoyment out of the game. The team has played well, but too many injuries. I understand injuries are part of the game, but every year it just seems the Flyers are crippled. Maybe it's just because I don't pay as close attention to the other teams.

Yes, Holmgren might as well hold the fort now and see where the team stands close to the deadline. He would be dealing from what would appear to be desperation now in any trade.

i still love the play on the Voracek goal against Minny where he was able to keep it alive with that poke check at the line when he was already out of the zone

Briere needs to hit the gym. Hes as soft as my pillow. Still love the little guy as he is very clutch come playoff time.

great road win

Not great about the injury news

Time for the young Flyers forwards to step up and play some good hockey.

Good call, that would be my preference. Might be OK if a forward is coming back. L. Scheen & Kadri for JVR and a 2nd. But my preference is to keep all the forward depth they have. Jagar is looking injury prone to bout.

So far I have seen people tweet that Briere got hit by Clarkson, Volchenkov and also fell and hit another guy's leg in the first period, and got punched by Elias.

Way to go Herb Brooks.

Agreed. Now Schenn and Couturier will definitely see more PP time. And scoring line time.

I think Schenn will be good but he has to show me more. I need him to play at the same level as Read and Couturier. I know he has had alot of injuries and trying to get his game back but I want more (call me greedy).

I don't think Briere or Schenn had good games. Briere looked completely lost. Twice he got tangled up with Voracek near the blue line. On one shift in the first period in our zone he left his man and repeatadly tried to cheat up to get the outlet pass. He looks lost now, as lost as after Prospal and before Leino.
I admit I did not see some of the recent games, but I did not see anything to rave about from Schenn today. He seems to often turn it over or make poor decisions in his own zone.
Both the pp goals occurred partly b/c three Devils got mesmerized by Giroux when he had the puck on the stick and stopped paying attention to their man. But I thought that Giroux's line was very mediocre 5-on-5.

well Briere was playing with a concussion, explains him being lost out there today

I was screaming about the clarkson hit. I thought it should've been a penalty. U could tell Danny was jarred from it.

Schenn's been up and down. Hopefully with more consistent ice time he'll gain consistency.

Chara played 32:19 today. Have to think his ice time would be significantly decreased from his usual tomorrow

I read a story a few months back that said Briere trains with Hugo Girard who is a Canadian Strongman. I think there was video of him flipping those huge tires. I hear he's pretty strong, just very small.
