Good game so far.

Bryzagalov looks pretty damn good. I thought for sure that puck was going to roll in. He got his pad over extremely quick. Timonen bailed him out with a nice acting job on pushing the net, but usually they don't call those anyways, so I knew it wasn't going to be called.

In watching the replay, Brodeur sold it, and the ref bought it. In real time, it's much harder to call.
Also you should read the rules on Goaltender interference. You'll be surprised what you read, in terms of your statement about the contact being caused by the Goalie.

that's a fair point, coupled with briere'r and brodeur's reps, i can see. but upon replay he made a bad, bad call. i can see a penalty called in that situation if there was a shot coming and briere bumped marty, but the puck is in the corner and brodeur clearly flopped

very sharp.

in other news, giroux continues to make bad decisions/executions with the puck in a defensive posture.

Flyers passed up some shooting situations also to try and make a pass instead of getting the puck on net.

flyers should have been tagged with a hook along the half wall and then a delay of game on timonen on that play. very fortunate.

I thought you were joking. But then I saw you're a Sabres fan so that probably looked like a good period to you.

rask with a bad short-side goal. the bruins should trade him during the next stoppage.

It's anemic because of how bad they are with decision making and defensively. No real awful breakdowns in that period. But they need to get the puck deep and get in on the forecheck.

Yeah, in slo-mo it looks bad. But it looks like he pushed it off in slo-mo. However, from the refs point of view, that's not going to be called.

I don't know about flopped.

He took an elbow to the head. However, you can also say Read "flopped." When you get elbowed in the head, I don't know if you can call that a flop. Especially with the helmet, because sometimes it hits like a sensitive part like the ear and it hurts.

However, what do you guys think of Taormina and Kovalchuk? Some Devils fans are just.

the whole team is trending like they were after valentine's day of last year, just playing poorly. i wonder if it's due to: conditioning? injuries? lava's system? just a lull before they crank it for the home stretch (i hope)?
