I've been trying to get a goalie since you guys brought me in. Think I finally got him!

I tried to be a jerk and propose a "better" trade, but ESPN won't allow it.

He. Need a goalie. Grabbed Vokoun from someone and he promptly lost 3 straight... That's my luck with goalies this year.

I hear ya, I went for Theodore on waivers and he has given up 3 or 4 in both games since he came back. But he is keeping me in the saves catagory this week at least.

Cooke has done some dirty crap in the past, but he was suspended quite heavily and now players can get away with murder on him without getting called based on his reputation. Cooke also has made a visible effort to change his game. Subban however is another story. Sure he will wise up in whatever year he matures, but until then, he's just another dirty player
- ikyan

Subban gets on my nerves as a habs fan, hopefully he's not just plain dumb and maturity will kick in at some point. It's just that I see some whining about him every game here. I even saw some people arguing that he was trying to cut people on purpose with his skates. That's kind of ridiculous.

Also, it just makes you look ridiculous to whine about him all the time (even your blogger started to whine before the game started) when you have a guy like Cooke on your roster.

I don't care if Cooke has been a good boy all year, and that he has been a saint for the 2011-12 season, his track record is there. What is the saying? People in glass houses...

- stinger67

There is a reason, he has committed a slew foot, or a skate-related instance in the last 4 or 5 games vs the Pens. It is called a PATTERN. Much like everyone complains about Cooke. Live with it. Other fans of other teams that play the Habs have complained about Slewban doing the same tatics. Take off the Red and Blue homers dude. He was overhyped by the sensational Canadian media, looking for a player and team to give a crap about. and now he is an average player who is prone to disappoint and make questionable plays/decisions.

Well jury is still out on that (he's 22). I guess it's more of a sophomore slump in his case. He has been playing a lot of minutes this year, with Markov out. He has to fill the skates of a #1 defenseman with this team, a role he was certainly not ready for. As for the rest, it's up to the league to act accordingly.

Subban was 2500 for "a dangerous trip" on Kunitz. About time.

People complain about him every game here because he slew footed James Neal earlier in the year and did the same thing to Kunitz last night. The larger issue is he is reckless, and lifts his skates up in the air way too much. You probably don't remember that this was how Staal got injured in the playoff series against the Habs when Subban was a rookie, an injury that caused him to miss half of last year. At the time, I assumed that play was an accident, but as he's developed a track record, now I'm less sure.

Looks like the league fined him $2500 for the play last night, which is a pittance, but at least now he has a documented track record with the league.

Yeah just heard that as well. Maybe it will be an instant fix? "There's your problem right there!"

Probably not. Doesn't look too promising.

Just looking at box scores over the last 5 wins.

Malkin - 8 goals

6 of the 8 goals have been when the team was down a goal, tied or up a goal (all important goals)

The other 2, they've been up two goals and they are empty netters

6 of the 8 goals have been scored in the third period

Not only is he scoring goals, but he's scoring them when the team needs them.

That will deter him from not doing it anymore.

What a punk.

He's on another level right now. Just seems like he wills goals when we need them most. Letang on the backend is obviously only going to help Geno.
