..I'd be happy to work a Roy for Plekanec deal is some way. Maybe the Sabres give a pick or prospect. I would not deal Myers, not for an immature Subban.....not interested. If I deal Myers I want something better.
- twistedwrister9

People have this issue overlooking the fact he is immature or whatever but he's the best d-man on our team. He's the type of guy that if you play against you hate but if he's on your team hes an absolute fan favorite. By far the most popular player on the team.

Uh last time I checked, He is in his second year ( rookie, even though it's considered sophomore ) ( whatever that means, he's a rookie in my eyes )

He needs to start playing offense, and just be a two way center.

Draft malcom subban, trade price for kovalchuk, get rid of gnome-z.

Then tell patches he sucks at scoring, trade him for eric staal so he can play with cole, keep training emelin to play like markov and there, Solution.

I don't think either team makes a trade like that, wouldn't help either team.
- habby

Yeah, if both teams trade their #1 center and defense, its kind of a moot point. I don't think either team gets any better. Both teams are in a simalar position so its going to be sending scrubs and dirty underperforming contracts back and forth. Especially if the whole point of the trade is making the play offs.

Which of Montreal or Buffalo has raised the white towel. I personally think Gauthier is the most dangerous man in hockey right now.

Not exactly. Subban is more physical than Redden was, but it's not far off.
People are going to rip this apart because of where Redden is now, but think about it at the time they let Chara walk.

Hindsight is obviously 20/20, and we'd love to have that one back- but Redden was putting up 50 pt seasons when that decision was made, and was a cornerstone for our defense. Let's not forget that we got to the SCF the next year without Chara.

People paint it like it was a choice between a 7th string D-man and Zdeno Chara. Chara was on the way up, but definitely didn't show what he eventually would.... Redden was at his peak.

Not as easy of a decision at the time.

Myers also missed a significant amount of time this year due to a wrist injury. You gotta take that into account.
- gsmith004

If given the choice I am taking Myers, didn't deny that. But to call Subban overrated is base a decision on emotion rather than what the kid actually does.
He is our best player and despite his struggles is still almost right on pace points wise to what he did last year.

He deffinately has that Claude Lemieux quality about him. He's young, and with no Markov, you have to keep the kid, he's your best on the back end along with Jorges.

Think Gauthier would fathom trading Louie Leblanc?

Also Myers is set to make some big money. Subban would be a little cheaper, and Montreal right now can't afford a lot of salary, they need to keep their cap as low as possible.

I think Subban's value has dropped a little in his sophomore year. That's not to say that his value isn't still high- but it's not as high as it used to be. He clearly has some attitude issues, and has regressed a bit. He's had teammate problems, etc.

Again- not taking anything away from him- my point would be that you should keep him- He's got a great skillset, and I don't think the return is worth what he could bring to the team.

And that's coming from a guy who despises the habs.
