I don't either, but you have to plan ahead.

They have a good group of talented kids. Why rip it to shreds to add one guy, even if that guy is Shea Weber?

Also, if you're trading for Weber, you can be certain that JvR is part of the package going the other way.

Cause I dont think this team can win with the defense they have. This is two years with the same group and we have the same issues still going. Pronger cant be relied on, Timmonen getting older, Carle free agent, Coburn inconsistant, Messy up and down every other year.

Hard to argue against that. Still the 4 seed in the eastern standings. This team is very inconsistant.

This team has been inconsistent for 4-5 years. Different players, different coaches..... it must be the fans or something.

Briere cannot possibly be the 2nd line center for the remainder of his contract...right? Flyers should look to trade him this summer...he is owed 12 million over the remainder of his contract. Should be doable for a team that has problems hitting the cap floor.

He has the NTC, but hopefully hes a good soldier cause we gave him a crapload of money over the years. I know about his kids blah blah blah

Honestly, they've had alot of injuries and are playing alot of young kids. We really need to lower the expectations for this team, atleast this season.

It was as if they picked a group of guys off the street and said ok have at it. Except I think maybe a group of strangers would have played better.

Watch that game and see how bad it was, how could it be system related? personally, I don't favor the Flyers system. But this is beyond that.

I wish I knew how to imbed the picture on the Isles first goal scored by Moulson. Timonen has his man, Coburn picks up a late man. Go to the highlights and freeze it just as Moulson gets the puck in the dead slot unchecked. You'll see Jagr to the left of the net along the goaline on a nice cruise. Giroux skating behind the net looking at the Taveras. And Hartnell doing a nice outside turn completely away from the net. Not one of them turned around and tried to pick anyone up. Absolutely horrendous.

Its mind boggling that they can't play defense... i thought it was the system last year... but i'm not sure anymore...

We look completely lost in our own zone... if you trap us we can't break it.. if you send a 2 man forcheck we'll pass the puck around and eventually turn it over to one of the forecheckers...

Its disgusting to see that a team with the Islanders talent was able to do what they did to the Flyers tonight.

The young kids are their most consistent players though IMO.

They do battle consistency. But, rather than make it Weber or bust, you have to look at the entire picture.

If Weber's going to cost, for the sake of discussion, JvR, Schenn and 2 1st rounders, maybe Brent Seabrook could be had for less. Or pursue Ryan Suter as a UFA.

I want them to make the best deal possible, not just grab the biggest fish.

I'm sorry but I can't stand when the Flyers lose for 2 reasons. First because I always want to win but the second reason is listening how pathetic everyone here sounds. Who cares how many minutes Jody Shelley played, it doesn't matter. If Shelley has no effect on the game, then he had no effect on the loss tonight. Why not try actually talking about where the team went wrong as a whole?

Every single day, you all female dog and complain about something that isn't going to change and something that is completely out of our control. So why bring it up? Why even bother watching the games if it's going to give you something to complain about? You all collectively sound like a bunch of losers.

I'm sorry if this comes off harsh but my god. The team was bad tonight. Everyone throughout the entire line up. Bryz wasn't in the line up to blame and Jody Shelley barely saw ice time, so why not point fingers at the people who deserve to have fingers pointed at them?

I do have on wish for this new years...

Stop putting forwards on the point... if your going to put a forward back there.. at least put a proven player on the point... JVR was terrible at the point and schenn was even worse...

I agree. Im not sold on this defensive group. Been saying it for over a year now. Blame the forwards all you want but it starts with our defenseman with the puck in our own end.

Jesus man.. didn't even blame Shelley...

Just pointing out that he's completely useless in the lineup.

(elbows and whispers) some people are really sensitive to the Shelley issue and it hurts their Jodey Shelley pillow doll's feelings

Yes it did. But at some point you have to stop putting a forward at the point on the PP. Its not working.
