If your Nashville why wouldn't you ask for Giroux in return? Everyone is saying that Weber is a top defenseman and is a Norris Trophy contender. So why woldn't they expect the same quality in return?

Me too. If something goes down for either player before the year is out, it will have to blow the socks off of Nashville. They have all the power until the season is over.

No, they can still trade his rights before FA. Just like with Timonen and Hartsy.

You're not understanding that Nashville has to agree to a Weber deal. This isn't NHL12, the deal has to work for both sides. Nashville is in the playoff hunt and you've already downplayed what JvR and Schenn bring to the table. If you don't think they're any good, why would the Preds? Zulnerczyk hasn't proven to be anymore then a 4th line player yet. Baby steps.

I never said I dont think they are any good. Do I think JVR is getting paid too much next year.... Sure. Am I concerned about his slow development, sure... But I like both players. I'm not downplaying them at all, I just think Weber would bring more to the table.

And, FYI, I'm not even saying Nashville is going to make this deal. I was just agrueing if Nashville agreed to a deal like this, then it would be foolish not to take it.

I wouldn't simply give up any of our young talent and expect them not to suffer the Sophomore Jinx next season with added responsibility because we traded other youth away.

It isn't foolish. By moving Schenn and JvR, they must be replace and because of other players needing to be re-signed and the big Weber contract coming in, you'd have to make the numbers work.

The flyers would be wise to hold onto schenn I was impressed with him last game he was all over the place Jvr is the most tradable foward and he we could get l schenn plus for him that would be huge
