Guys I honestly think we get a little too excited. After a two game winning streak we're saying their playing some of their "best hockey" really? We could easily lose tomorrows game and then we'll all be on here tomorrow female doging about another lottery pick. Being an Isles fan since birth is painful.

They need this game tonight. Canes had to travel and played last night. Would be worst loss of season by far

We should trade him now while his value is high!! Maybe get a 3-4 D-men & a later round pick!!

you're ridiculous... to even put Tavares and Parenteau in remotely the same category is ridiculous.... Parenteau is a million times more expendable.

How'd he look? I personally think this kid is one of the isles best prospects. I saw him play at camp and he was dominant.

Did it really? Turgeon, Thomas Hogue as the scoring guys. then rest were all NHL castoffs.

I think alot of similarities. Defense had Kasper and Malakov. after that big fall off. You dont think Streit better than Malakov and that Hamonic, AMac and Jurcina arent better than Kurvers, Lachance and Pilon?

- Spartiarti

I think the defense is very similar, but the offense was the difference. You had 3 solid scoring lines. Like him or not, Derek King was a 30+ scorer, and The Golden Gopher Ray Ferraro and Flats added secondary scoring. The kid line was doing their share as well...........that is something the isles have lacked all season. That secondary scoring that the 1993 team had.

The isles are still lacking a physical presence on the back line too. Rich Pilon would drive guys through the glass. Noone on the isles can clear the crease like Richie P did

I wasn't watching the game overly intently but he looked good, definitely stood out over a good number of the guys on his team. My (realistic) hope is that he turns into a much better Brian Boyle type player, a big body that can pick up those dirty goals and play some good D. He didn't look overly physical to me but it was one game so I'm not sure how he usually plays. I would hope with that size that he has somewhat of a physical game.

Too bad santa couldn't bring Grabner a set of hands for christmas
- eichiefs9

Grabner is eerily similar to Jason Blake in the sense that he has more breakaways than anyone on the team because of his speed.........but neither of them are finishers. If either one of them could finish with all those looks, they'd be 40+ goal scorers year in and year out.

If Grabner had even a halfway decent pair of mitts he could pot 40 goals a year. If he had Patty Kane's hand he would be the second coming of Pavel Bure.

If that was the case he would have never been on waivers. I'll take the stone hands and 25-30 goals a year over not having him at all

Regardless of how many breakaways he does or doesnt deposit into the back of the net. Because he is a threat, Grabner is a headache and a major concern to opposing "D's", And that's a big plus for us. 25-30 goals per season is nothing to complain about. And you know that there will be the occasional 18 goal season and maybe with a little luck the 30 -35 goal season.
