Leclair scored 2 OT goal in the Finals - did a little more than Latendresse .

Imagine HB on ROY trade today if EK had invented it before then..

- BingoLady

Everyone knew the Roy trade was awful the second it happened, especially when you looked at Col's roster. mtl gave up too much for Recchi, but you didn't know it at the time, plus he was very good for Mtl. It's hard to blame them for how that one turned out.

He doesn't have the same quickness has early in the season...he isn't the same player. I don't think it's effort or lack of heart.

...Me'h. With David Desharnais panning out and playing well with Patches and Cole, i just don't see where he fits for next year. He has value and i think he would fit well in FLA or Minny...

Plekanec has an admirable tool box but he's well overrated offensively. He skates to the corner all the time and then decides between either circling the net or pulling the hand break. Effort is not a problem, but only in Montreal would he be a #1 center.

I couldn't get on this site for an hour after the Cammy trade, then when I was able to, I couldn't post.

So waivers goalie becomes all-star and now sucks on one of the best teams in the league, Smith goes from worst goalie since Toskalol to 7th in the league in sv%..maybe I'm missing something or does Phoenix just have goaltending powers in the water?

I knew it at the time. Desjardins was a great player let alone Leclair and even Dionne was worth a bit at the time..

While I agree about most of what you say on this, I must say I really didn't like the fact they traded Desjardins at the time.

They thought Brisebois would turn out to be better than him.... And we all know how that went.

As for the Roy trade, you can blame it all on Réjean Houle.... Savard had a deal in place for Owen Noal.

Smith lost is confidence in Tampa last year and was pushed off the bay by Rollie the goalie. Playing with no pressure in a tight defensive system helped him a lot, but even Labarbera is decent there so who knows?

Deadmarsh? Ricci? They couldn't have (frank)ed up that trade much worse, not even a pick plus they sent them the captain of the team.

There was a certain context to Bryzgalov's waiver situation but yes, part of it is the system. Smith has been making circus saves too. Everyday on Sports Centre he is doing something crazy.

Having the same name as Bubbles doesn't hurt either.
