No Eller-copters in his history either.

Toews isn't big? Dats has size too..
- BingoLady

Neither is a big centre compared to:
Staal
Getzlaf
Vinny
Kopitar

But they are excellent centres, that's the difference.

Boston, Detroit, Chicago all won cups without a big centre on their top lines.
- habby

Detroits Centers may not "big" but they are far from being soft.
Bergeron and Krejci are both plus 6 foot, but does it matter with boston they only have one small player on the team.

Are you really going to compare they way those teams are built with the Habs. Be serious.

So again size isn't really the issue. I think it's fair to say that mtl, outside of koivu has a recent history of soft and not great centres. Ollie Jokinen is a big centre? What's wrong with him?

6'2 210 or 6'4 220 I'll take either over 5'10 and 180

Not at all. I don't think trading PK for Getzlaf suddenly makes this team much better, that's my point.

Are you saying Crosby is big? He's not soft and he's really talented. Again two things Mtl has been lacking down the middle.

The easiest answer to soft is get bigger of course.

Getzlaf is far from being soft and also has the size needed to not get worn down as much as a smaller player.

So to be more precise Montreal needs Big Hard talent.

I guess the point is Getzlaf is a big center WITH world class talent. He's won a stanley cup and an Olympic gold medal. Saying that trading him for PK Subban is an AUTOMATIC loss isn't perplexing to you? At all?

I agree, I've never said otherwise. But teams have had success without big centres if they were built properly in other areas.
