Thought I would share some of my day to day activity...This email is from a guy who said he had an emergency switchboard repair last week. I offered him Monday but he said that he was on holiday, some emergency, and here is his reply when I told him we would fix his board tomorrow:

I understand that (my company) is showing up to the project site tomorrow for the first time to survey the problem with no intentions and/ or provisions to fix the problem. The contract completion date is February 3rd which is 15 days from now, at which point liquidated damages start.

I don’t understand why it has taken (my company) two weeks to show up to the project site and why there is this RECKLESS ATTITUDE of posturing and we will get to it when we get to it… There clearly is a problem. The problem is not going away until the switchboard is modified to cause it to be serviceable and every day this cat-n-mouse games goes on is another day of LDs. Move the bus bars or do whatever needs to be done so that board is able to be maintained!

If at the end of the day, it is determined that the events / direction external from Natelco caused (my company) to build what they provided, then we will work to seek a fair minded solution that presents (another company) and (my company); however if this is simply a manufacturing screw up (which it appears to be) and you continue to play this game of posturing and we will get to-it when we get to-it, then I am personally going to get involved and go out of my way to seek justice on behalf of the owner and all other stakeholders that are being f..ked by this.

My expectation is that (my company) shows up with a box of wrench and parts tomorrow with the intent of making the necessary modifications that allows you to start pulling and landing feeders starting Monday and that we work three shifts if necessary to get this complete. Anything short of this is unacceptable.

I just got off the phone with Revenue Quebec.

There was no need to read further. It was pretty easy to guess that whatever it was, it was going to turn out badly.

Calling Revenue Canada, in English, yields no more useful results. I am happy that the immigrant you spoke with will retire at 53 years old with a huge, guaranteed pension though... when NOBODY in the private sector gets anything remotely close

Isn't that tough to say though. I mean Montreal has been pretty putrid. It is tough to really judge a goalie fairly in those circumstances.

Just in general, it is pretty tough to tell if it is the D, the Goalie, or the coaching sometimes. Again, I hate to keep repeating this, but we have the same dilemma in Toronto. It is tough to tell who to blame.

If I had to guess, in Montreal, I would say the D is poor. The goaltending is very good.

In Toronto, it is coaching and goaltending, except for 1 D-man, who is HORRIBLE (Schenn).

I still believe Price is someone you guys can build in front of.

I just got off the phone with Revenue Quebec, no english option right off the bat, so i went through the menu. Once i got to someone I just started speaking english, the guy cuts me of and with no accent goes "hold on one minute please", he transfers me to what i assume is the english line. An African woman answers me in really broken english and asks how she can help. I begin to explain to her and it becomes pretty apparent her English is really bad. I sigh and start speaking to her in French, explaining the info I’m looking for. She responds in broken French, I sigh, thank her and hang up.

God forbid a francophone has to go through something like that with the Canadian Gov't.

That's pretty bad...if you work for the government, wether it is federal or provincial, you should be bilingual but at least you must have a good time with that african woman. Actually when the likes of her call at home it's about a (frank)ing survey about my eating habits. Even in french you don't understand much...

In hindsight...maybe you should've talked French to the first guy...

am I right?

Price seems pissed obviously with the way the season has gone so far for the team. Himself he had a roller coster year...and if they wanted to be in playoffs, this team needed a stellar Price night after night which can be translate into a very boring team

M'eh, I can't remember the last time the habs won one for Price, but he bails them out constantly. I know that's the goalies job, but still, he's got to be great every game for them to win and that's not just this year.

Price have a less than stellar year would be understandable. Whenever I watch him, he looks great, but I don't see the Habs play all that much... again with a Leaf comparison. Kessel really is looking tired and disinterested lately.

It is not only tough to succeed when you are surrounded by sub-par talent... but it must be f*cking tough to stay motivated!

I don't mind that QC is unilingual, not a huge surprise what happens when I call...do my best in french and usually able to get a solution. Saves a boatload of cash in tax payer dough too. Look at NB and what a massive cost bilingualism is.

As an anglophone who's lived in Quebec my whole life I can say that we're second class citizens and it sucks. As well, working in Ontario and seeing the comments in the english media across Canada I think Quebecers are treated like poop and it sucks. It's a vicious circle.

I don't like the double standard. I speak french fine, but I'd have a tough time with tax info in English, I'd be (frank)ed in French.

He's had some weak games...no biggie and there are no end to reasons why, motivations a good one...contract talks, But the point is more that no one is dumping on Price. All things considered he's been fine.

Trying to keep everyone happy is keeping no one happy.

I hate to say this, but if Canada did not spend what it spends on having two official languages, think of how much could be cut off the debt? all of it probably?

I don't see it as double standard really. I don't hear a lot of francophones tripping out in Alberta about govt services. Over time it could come back to haunt the province from an economic perspective but meh. Honestly I don't want to have this conv. because you know who will be attracted by it.
