This year, now take the veterans off the team for next year, they will be worse, much worse, and play the youth until they get better. Yup. They will suck, use the picks/prospects you get from these vets and build yourself a good team, finally.

Tanking is no guarantee. For every Pitt and Chicago there's Edmonton and the islanders. Mtl has a 21000 seat building to fill, if you don't think that's important you just don't get it.

Go look at how any different teams have won the cup since 93, it's a short list. Tanking guarantees nothing. It's mind boggling to think the habs are the last Canadian team to win the cup.

You mean the two teams with potential drafted franchise players and good prospect/players around them that they drafted? The Isles especially dont look good right now, but if you dont think they dont have potential going forward, and arent going to get any better then really aint much to say about it really. Isles were also a product of the Milbury as well. The habs really suffer from lack of people willing to go to games, this has always been a problem in Montreal.

Now check the teams since the lockout, and Anaheim, is the only one who can even be said to retooled, when they acquired Neids and Pronger, the rest, Getzlaf and Perry were drafted. The rest out and out tanked.

Since the lockout only 2 have definetly tanked. 2006 is more likely an anomaly considering the teams involved and the missed year.

Getzlaf and Perry were drafted following the Ducks making it to the finals.

Doesn't matter neither qualify for his point, both were mid to late round picks.

I thought the habs were playing well until that first goal. The second one killed them.
