Pretty sad when you think about it... isn't it?
- Pecafan Fan

It is what it is. The grass roots of hockey players are good old country boys, it's not like they are taught to hate anyone different, but they don't see anyone different as they grow up. Hockey players also take a lot longer to grow up.
Playing hockey and training all year long, hanging out only with the players on the team, they are never exposed to the different cultures as much as kids who go the college/Labor routes.

It will take time but as more of the minorites start to reach the NHL level the players will become more accepting.

The Habs need a big star center like Getzlaf more then they need Subban.
- Champ

in the real world, you don't trade a 28-min defenseman whose whole career is ahead of him-- a cheap one at that, for a star centre whose play will start declining soon (if it hasn't already) that already makes top-buck.

Like i said, I love Getzlaf. He'd be the answer to so many problems Canadiens have had for years, but you try to make that deal by dangling Plekanec and two second rounders.

you don't give up a first when you're likely to draft top 10, and you don't give up a stud dman.

I'm just gonna pretend I've never read that and continue with my day.

I don't think it's automatic, but it's fair to think the possibility exists, no?

Good on you for publically saying that and risking a Stormey location.

Would it not be fair to say that the habs could use Ryan or Perry more than Getzlaf?

Problem is EE, if he is a cancer and his peers do not like him, he won't last very long, anywhere.

Une langue, ca s'apprend. _ Pierre Gauthier

He's not a cancer, I can't think of any other team in the NHL that cites locker room issues as problem every time they are not playing well as much as the habs do.

A cancer doesn't usually lead the team in icetime from the age of 21. Especially not on defense.
