I once worked in a ship yard in Gibraltar.. .no cruise ships on the dry docks but I do have some sort of knowledge on how big a cruise ship can be. I would like to compare it to Rick's wife... but I've never met her.

Of course I would but considering the variety of passengers (very young to the very old) this isn't an option for all.
The real point of where this started was with the Captain leaving the ship to save himself. In the mean time the crew was holding the passengers back from boarding the life boats. By the time they tried to lower them they couldn't be lowered and people died for no reason
