As long as the ducks keep on playing the way they do, they'll be ahead of the habs before the end of next week. |

Sure thing. Difficult to understand why they are so low in the standings...
That would eventually leave Columbus and Edmonton to draft 1 and 2. But I'm pretty sure EDM will pick a dman, so Habs are okay. |

Sell sell sell - Dgrdnr
That's why I hope they don't wait till deadline to do so.
But even without selling, they suck so much, they could do it.

Gill and Moen are gone for sure.
You think they'll keep AK?
At $3.5M a year, I'd keep him. Maybe another 3 year contract. |

If they can have a good return I would trade him.

If they can get a 2nd for Gill or Moen, then do it. Ak says he will stay for cheap as long as he can still float for 50 games a season and put in no effort. Other teams will actually make him work and earn his contract or demote him to the AHL, as we all know the habs wont do that. See Gomez, Scott. |

I'd definitely trade him for a 1st round pick, if a team is stupid enough to offer that.
But hey, I'm fine with a big body that can score 20 goals a season. |

If Dominic Moore is worth a 2nd, I don't see why AK would not bring back a 1st. A late first obviously. |

Pierre Gauthier.
Because he knows Montreal / Toronto will suck balls. |

Maybe the Preds, à la Fischer last year. Not sure the Caps want another enigmatic Russian forward. |

That's fair. Maybe even another pick on top of that. Every year we sit here and argue that so and so isn't worth much, every year we're shocked at what somebody gets. |

sometimes people don't quite understand how or why things like that happen.
1) We know the dynamics at play here between Subban, his teammates and the coaching staff and management.
2) Sometimes, discussions are had to stimulate interest and stimulate discussion about other players.
3) Sometimes, GMs have to dangle pieces to find out if they can get the piece that truly makes their team elite or closer to being so.
4) I love Ryan Getzlaf and Zach Parise, and there's no denying Kovalchuk is a premiere talent.
But if you trade Subban for any one of them straight up, you lose that deal. That may sound crazy to some of you, but it's true.
Kick the tires and see what you can do, but beyond that, there's more bodies moving out of Montreal this season and he's a conversation-starter. - EricEngels Bump
