Except for a few hits here abd there, Emelin is a marginal nhler.

he is nothing special.

- Pecafan Fan

He has a good first pass and has above average puck carrying abilities to take the puck out. I'd like to see him used more often on the PP. Might as well try him as it doesn't work anyway...

They gave a chance to Visentin God (frank)ing knows why.

And they lost.

- Pecafan Fan

It wasn't Visentin's goaltending that cost them against the Russians.

Anyone else wish that Gomez had the chance to get the winning goal, and likely, save the Habs season?
- JDJ

No.

Next question.

some sandpaper for the defense. since kaberle, weber, diaz, campoli, gill are softer than the taco.

Good effort by the Habs tonight. That was a well earned point, but I'm sure you guys wish you'd picked up the second.

Subban had a pretty representative night too...an assist, a horrid turnover that lead to a goal, and a dirty slew foot. Some day the hockey Gods and Karma are going to team up and teach that kid a lesson.

*edit*...and GOMEZ on the shootout? WTF?

- pete26

For who? Weber? Suter? He'll be a good 3-4 with offensive upside not the 6 mill 1st everyone expects. Package him with Pleks and a first? meh. Not the worst deal for Nash. but there has to be teams that can offer more.

I agree. He should be a 6 maybe 7 on a contention team. Instead he's battling with Hal Gill for time. MTLs D is a shambles. (frank)ing Kaberle? last year if you had of said Kaberle will play for MTL I would have said not (frank)ing likely.

For me, quite frankly, I do not care who is #1..2...3...etc... 7.

I think there comes a point where the Habs need to trade off the players on the roster they want to get rid of ASAP and look to giving more playing time to the youth, regardless of how much it hurts / how many errors they make to give them NHL experience.

That includes guys on the roster (Weber, Diaz, Emelin) and guys in Hamilton (Le Bust, Palushaj, etc).

Use the time wisely, don't just throw guys out there because they are vets.

Give the kids meaningful minutes and see where they are in their development.
