What does this have to do with a Canadian receiving medical care outside of the country still being covered by medicaid? - muffin_man
Peter Judge, CEO of the Canadian Freestyle Skiing Association, says its athletes have excellent insurance when they are competing for the association.
But Burke's accident happened during an unsanctioned event, and that means coverage likely falls to her sponsors, said Judge.
If you don't have any insurance, you have to pay. |

Wasn't it Schultz that had the best +/- of the league playing with Mike Green couple of years ago? - Scabeh
I think +/- is a very subjective stat that only should be used if it makes your agument stronger. |

Again, I was under the impression that Canadians abroad still had medicaid coverage and were just responsible for the difference between the bill and what it would have cost for the same coverage in canada.
I am now thinking that may have been province to province though... |

I know it's not the case for Quebec unless it's a car accident. |

Gauthier 'now that we got bigger with the addition of Mr. Bourque, I think that we need to get smaller. I think Mr. Roy adds that element we've been missing since the departure of Mr. Cammellari. He has a french name but he is not .' |

I don't think that's the case, it depends on the province and type of accident. Usually when out of the country you need insurance. - trash
I find it hard to believe that an athlete (who had sponsors, if I remember correctly), would be training outside of their home country and NOT have insurance. |

I would think a Canadian is covered everywhere in Canada, but I'm not certain of it. When abroad, for Quebec residents they are only covered in the case of an accident involving an automobilie if they have a valid driver's license.
My mom was hit by a car in NY, once her travel insurance was maxed out the SAAQ covered the rest. |

Perhaps they figured they might be covered, sanctioned or unsanctioned event.
Insurance companies tend to be female genitalias with their small prints and exceptions.
Sad, regardless. And perhaps something every athlete should be looking into, even though hopefully they never need to use it. |

Gill should have said he could careless, he is going to be traded to a contender, or at the very least, a team likely to make the playoffs.. |
