This team could be tanking for years.

- stinger67

Hey! At least the drafts are good again! That is until the Leafs deal away a couple more 1st round picks.

just an opinion, but I prefer the Leafs situation (youth, contracts) to the Habs situation...

except for Price.

Unfortunately, as a leafs fan, that is the most important thing.

proabably have a dozen of one and 6 of the other.

Atleast he is getting in the way of the puck.

But ya most of the teams with good shot blockers are bottom tier teams.

- HuileHab

Heard the other day that "shot blocking" is overlooked by GMs as a negotiation tool. They don't give a poop.

Pretty sad eh?
- HABSFAN78

No I just couldn't believe someone would take that much time to analyze two teams not in palyoff spots right now. And it's sad.

So you don't think Burke should do the Brian Burke special?
- mr.peanut

Maybe he will.

But I don't think he should. Not right now anyway.

Maybe normal GMs, we have the goat.

Just find it funny no one gave a poop that OB got shipped out but Emelin is praised for being hitting machine with 3 more hits then OB.

The mistake Burke could do imho is trying to land a big fish in order to fill a hole (a top center) and create multiple holes at other positions by doing so.
- Pecafan Fan

It isn't multiple holes he will create.

What worries me is that it is a numbers game with prospects and young players, especially on D.

At least a couple of the good young D might not amount to much.

Burke is taking an awful chance if he trades away 1 or 2 because they have depth now. It could end up being that we are as weak on D 2 years from now as we were 2 years ago.

I would rather he did nothing... unless we can get a good goalie without mortgaging the future?

He should trade Kadri before everyone realizes how much of a bust he is.

You think he'll go out and pay (meaning, trade roster players) to get a top goalie?

I gotta agree. Think about it. Leafs are something like 6th in the league at blocking shots. Yet are bottom 5 in goals allowed. I'm starting to put that in with the +/- as not a very telling stat.

Cripes, Habs, Canes, Leafs, Isles, Minny....all top team in that stat. Wit the exception of the Rangers.

I'm near certain he will, that's what he does, he'll give up secondary scoring, which they are finally getting right now.

Asp made a post about the teams being close since Nov. I knew it was true, but I wanted to see how close.

so bite my franco-loving-fleshy behind part.
