For the examples of Richards vs. Booth, you don't think that sort of fight isn't justified? What about Umburger vs. Campbell? There is a certain honor among players. Richards took Booth out for a number of weeks/months with a hit that could have ended his career. Richards answered to that. Richards owned up.

In the example of Shelley going after Clutterbuck, the Flyers don't seem all that broke up about it.

There's staged fights all the time, with no fines or other repercussions. That's only in the last five minutes of a game, where a coach gets fined.

It's been shown that not only didn't they share the ice during the third, but the coaches were actively trying to keep them apart, as there were a couple/few shifts where Clutterbuck came off when Shelley came on.

That should be the end of it.

I got lost in my rambling but yes, this is exactly what I meant.

So schenn2shine what do you think the Flyers will do before the trade deadline is up? Any players you like?

Chicago should of been awarded a goal there. Interesting .

Awful call, due to...bad positioning by the ref. If he's standing on the back of the net like he should be, it's 5-2 Chicago

Oh funny.. cause i swear he's scratched everytime we play a team without an enforcer...

If you have seen Shelley play, you know he's not in the NHL if he doesn't fight.

There is no discussing this. He's an enforcer. Its utterly confusing to me, how someone can claim to know everything about hockey, but be so blind when it comes to an enforcer.

Fighting is one reason why Shelley made a career in the NHL. Never said differently. Never said Shelley wasn't an enforcer. But if all he could do is fight, and he couldn't play the game at all, he wouldn't have lasted 10 years in the League. And he's played far more games where he hasn't fought then when he was. Not interested in personal comments.

So are they saying he blew it dead? If that goes to Toronto, its a goal, how can you miss that?

Oh ok. I got what you mean. I thought you were saying that Lava would be fined if he sent Shelley out there to take the same liberties on Wild skill players as Clutterbuck had been taking on the Flyers. I didn't realize you meant in the last 5 minutes. It's what I get for skimming.

Jody Shelley is also not a player who is going to go after another team's skill player. There is also honor in that respect. Shelley has spoken about the code for enforcers, and that's one thing he won't do.

Mikka Kiprusoff sure does get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to goaltender interference calls. Did anyone see the farce in San Jose last night?

MOntreal just got a 6 minute PP on a triple minor. Cant recall the last time I saw something like that.

Erskine 2 minutes for elbowing, and 4 minutes for high sticking....

I saw Bryz at the Skate Zone tonight. Once he started talking, though, I walked away. I mean, who needs that? He needs to concentrate on stopping the puck, even when he's with his kids at public skate.

Silent Bobrovsky was there, too. Didn't say a word. Even ordered his soft pretzel in sign language. Amazing.

Wow, Brooks Leich just blocked like 4 shots in a row and all 4 looked like they hurt like hell.
