As far as I'm concerned, you're the only beat writer in town, Bill.

One thing I've wondered is whether or not he was like that the last few years in Phoenix. I don't remember that specifically when I saw him play.
- Hextall271

No he wasn't doing that much. I think it's his whole situation impacting his game. He's not feeling confident so he's cheating and guessing. Hopefully last night is the first step towards feeling confident and getting back to being a rock.

Well we know it wasn't Panotch since he was in minny-soda last night

faketpanotch Fake Tim Panaccio
Lights still dark here in Minny. Also couldn't get into rink. Not sure what the jig is here.

I enjoyed Couturier being asked if he was thinking about the goal streak when he was skating in on the 2 on 1.

That was the perfect game to get a shut out. If Powe isn't on the team he gets the shut out, brutal! Ex players love playing the Flyers.

Jagr definitely looked more confident last night. I think they may want to break that line up for a game or two to try and get them going. Jagr and Giroux look too frustrated with their own play that it might be hard for them to get each other going.

I think Gus looks great. He and MAB really make it viable for the Flyers to land a 3-4 defenseman instead of going all in for a stud. That may also allow them to make another deal to sure up the forwards.

- funmaster18

The Giroux line was excellent last night. They're ready to bust out again. I wouldn't change that line.

I thought he was fighting the puck a little bit last night, too.

Wouldn't categorize it as a strong performance considering:

- still giving up rebounds
- still fighting the puck
- let in another soft goal
- weak opponent
- solid team defense

- bradleyc4

Something that has been sorely lacking in many of his starts lately.

Was watching the highlights from last nights game and just wanted to comment on a few things..

Jagr looks strong again.. best night he has had in a long time.
Voracek is tenacious in his work effort.

Cooter is insanely wise beyond his years... rewatched his goal about 5 times.. First off.. Read has a beautiful steal and then his explosive speed really set the play in motion.. but the subtle but most important thing that happens is all Coots..

he has the 2v1 with Read against Zidlicky and angles a bit wide... pumps a fake shot shifts center a bit, and then dishes to Read.. in doing so, he literally takes Zidlickys feet away from him... completely setting himself up for the give and go tap in...

Cant stop watching that little play..

I hope you're right. If they get it going next game then good. Giroux was clearly frustrated last night hitting the boards with his stick after every shift. Minny and the Islanders are great teams to get things going against.

I just loved how Le Couts buried the pass with that powerful shot. It was in and out of the net so fast...

Not that I dont think he is more frustrated now.. im sure he is... but he was doing the same stuff when he was potting 2-4 points a night. He expects to score every shift... which is what sets him apart from some many other players in the league..

I was just being a clown, I love Cooter and comparing him to RNH is foolish and dumb, kind of like comparing say a Jeff Carter to Stamkos.

I was being a complete idiot just making a point.

I love Cooter, thrilled beyind thrilled that they drafted him

True but his points have dropped off for 10+ games now. I just think splitting he and Jagr up could open up more space for both of them. It's just one way to go about it, the other is let them play through it. As MJL said they do look close to busting out, so who knows, maybe next game is the one. Jagr's health was definitely playing a role in the slow down.

RNH and Taylor Hall are going to put up some amazing numbers.

And how about that Pietrangelo kid in St. Louis? I bet Hitch is a big fan, too.

- bradleyc4

Hitch is loving it. Pietrangeko and Shattenkirk etc etc and good in net, they are going to be hell to deal with

He loves Backes like a son, Backes is a beast.

Another thing I noticed is that Bryz was a little better than I gave him credit for last night.

and how about Read.

he doesn't get the press/props etc because he's an older rookie but the kid is a beauty. He oozes hockey

The Flyers rolled the dice on a lot of unknowns and underrated players this year and it's all coming togeter quite nicely.
