As long as 1 of our goalies play like a number 1 goalie when the playoffs come I will be happy.

And that guy will be Bryzgalov.

I think Bryz's top 2 areas he needs to work on are rebound control and positioning. He often looks to be slightly out of position which makes him make a tougher save than needed and usually leads to a big rebound.

But a win is a win.

I find that he is fighting the rebounds instead of absorbing them or directing them to corners, and that his arms and legs seem to flaill a lot instead of being a compact pyramid so to say. I think that contributes to him being beat 5 hole so much.

Cooter is doing well but he's no Nugent-Hopkins

Well stated. Ironically, BOB seems to be doing the oppo of what Bryz has been doin with said rebounds.

the rebounds seem to be landing right in the slot, makes me jumpy.

Good thing the Wild have the offensive fire power of Kent Manderville right now.

Can't say enough about Bob and the improvement of his overall game, just fantastic to see.

He's easy to cheer for

RNH and Taylor Hall are going to put up some amazing numbers.

And how about that Pietrangelo kid in St. Louis? I bet Hitch is a big fan, too.

Yeah, the Bruins will eat him alive with those. As I said, rebounds to the corners, or swallowed up. Especially on these long range easier shots.. can't be kicking those into the slot.. jebus.

I hope so. I think he will settle down and will be able to focus much more now that they have extended time at home.

He was getting better with them late in the game. He had quite a few rebounds that he swept into the corners, or simply deflected with his stick off to the safe areas.

He did has a few juicy ones, but for the most part he was solid.

I agree. Bryz needs to be better, but as with all goalies.. give them games and let the confidence grow.

He is, however, far superior in the 2 way game.

Just a sad looking team without Koivu, Bouchard and Latendresse. Bet they're counting down the days until they can bring Mikael Granlund into camp.

I did notice that as the game went on he got better. He was blocking or using his stick to direct the shots to corners and swallowed a few up. Work in progress.

Bryzgalov will continue to get better. Yesterday was the first step forward. The Flyers as a team played much better.

Early on i thought he struggled with the rebounds, but did a very good job as the game progressed.. he directed a bunch of shots to the center and swallowed a bunch as well.

Late in the game, he ate a few shots that could have been troublesome had he not swallowed them up.

I'm encouraged, but he's still got work to do.

Do you notice he seems to flail a bit, especially if he has to reposition laterally or is it just me?

I think he freezes a ton.. Bob flails occasionally, but is superbly athletic with it.. Bryz flails but looks like a dead fish.

One thing I've wondered is whether or not he was like that the last few years in Phoenix. I don't remember that specifically when I saw him play.

Nope. He looked solid last night. Its funny how deflections last night went against Minny's goalie Harding. He has a nice gaa and gave up 5 last night. Im surprised he didnt make those saves.
