But in your example... Does miller + whatever (stafford, etc) get us back a #1 center AND a substantial goalie? Like u pointed out, any team "upgrading" to miller prob doesn't have a worthwhile goalie to send back to us
It's hard for me to see how a deal like this works for us - jdfitz77
Possibly Hiller if Anaheim wants to blow things up like us. Other than that we'd be looking at guys to platoon with Enroth. Which honestly I'd be fine with.
Berglund, Oshie, Backes, and Halak are who I'd be interested in. - dadeadhead
Halak could work actually, and Berglund/Roy are good trading partners.
I'd love Oshie and Backes, but there's no reason St Louis would ever look to move those two. Not unless they really slump before the trade deadline...even then, those guys are Hitchcock players and it's just a pipe dream for us.

I saw Halak make a save last night. Thats more than I've seen from Miller since Halloween.
What exactly is Derek Roy doing that makes anyone think we can't afford to trade him because it would leave a big hole at center?
From what I've seen this team could lose just the same with Szechura (sp) at center. - Losman
Do we not currently have a HUGE hole at center?
Trading Roy (who is usually a top20 scorer) + whatever it'd take to get a true #1center still leaves us without a #2 and weakens us at another spot...
I don't see how that drastically improves us... We still would only have 1 line that scores
And admittedly, Roy is not scoring this year, but that isn't the norm

I Think you need a set #1 goalie come playoff time

Factor in that he's a jackass off the ice and I think it makes perfect sense to deal him.
Convert Pominville or Ennis to center. Or find 2 centers between now and next season.

Adam is a center and pommer pretty much plays that. We just don't have that top 20 center still and thats what we need . With roy gone . Do we have a #2 center in adam or pommer ?

If we find two centers then that makes sense...but I want one here 1st, and then I'd deal Roy in a package for another one
And I think we've seen (time after time after time) that converting wingers to play center works out pretty poorly
