I've been in a TXT conversation with Jeremy this AM. He didn't like when I pointed out to him how he and Howard conveniently forgot to mention that the NJ Devils fired their coach before they went on their run last season. I really am beginning to think that he and Lindy have a gay relationship.

You know, it's 2012, he should feel proud to come out on the air and express his love for Lindy.

The Blues with Hitchcock this year, night and day.

But honestly at this point, I agree with Schopp, do you really want to break your back to sneak into the 8th spot to get run over by Boston or New York? Instead of doing what the Bills do every year, which is win just enough to be in the middle of the draft, sell off some assets at the deadline and get a top 5 pick. Hopefully that can be a center and then you can start really building a core for the future.

Replace both the 14 year guys before the draft.

I want them to suck and suck badly.. Get a lottery pick, trade hecht, goose, leo, roy, boyes and staff for picks/prospects.. Take a look at the free agent market (get a vet presence) this summer and start over.

I agree with tanking this season (and with Mike Schopp in general), but Ruff needs to go. I don't care what players we have, this team will never win a cup if Ruff is the coach. The man couldn't get it done with Hasek for god's sake.

I agree that Ruff's time has expired however it doesn't make a difference if you fire him now or after the year. Might as well keep losing right now with him.

while I agree with the getting rid of ruff, your rationale is wrong, imo. Hasek was all that team had that loss was on regier. Varada, a guy couldn't make it on any other team in the league was on our top line for Gods sake. I loved the guy and his heart but he was a combination of kaleta and ellis

I'd like to think another coach would have put Curtis Brown or Dixon Ward up there.

He did in Philly, and blew it. But you can't change the past and the Sabres did what they did.
- Gunner Staal

He blew it because he asked for to much money.

He has very similar numbers to Ryan Miller those two yrs.

If done right it doesn't have to take long to re-tool.

See Philly from 06/07 to 07/08.

Lindy, do you think your message might have gotten stale with this group of players?

Would it have been that hard to ask that question?

The problem with Miller..
He is an awesome goalie, however, I think that there is marital issues. He is a goalie in Buffalo NY, his wife is a HOT model in LA... I think that Miller sits in goal and can only think that while he is in net, his wife is getting hit on by every guy in LA.... does he trust her? Is he having visions of his wife getting down with the photographer? This isn't a smack on him or his wife.. its gotta suck not being able to see her. Guys, think about it, if you were away from your better half for most of the year, what would your thoughts be? Picture your better half sleeping with your best friend. I bet Miller is somewhat distracted because of this.

Yeah but similar to Miller this year, Biron failed to make the save when his team most needed it. I saw a lot of those Philly Biron teams and he just never came up big, except on a few occasions.

he wouldn't marry her if he couldn't trust her. Millers problems started after the hit in Boston. His trust issues are with the team in front of him.

So similar to Miller for his career.

Everyone wants Miller to be like Hasek and he never will. With Dom you could have a lapse and he would make the big stop. Miller isn't that type of goalie, he is much more technical and relies heavily on his d. It would be nice if he could make a save every while. Millers weakness is the weakness in front of him and now he can't rely on them his game has suffered.

Hasek is an all time great, that being said I do not believe he would have the same aura about him if he played in the current landscape. Clutch and grab hockey was very kind to goalies. I think Hasek would have still been a hall of famer for sure now, but you can't lean on a goalie like that anymore. That 1999 Sabres team would look like the Oilers before all their draft picks recently, probably worse.

Short answer.

Miller isn't "Elite" then.
