Yeah, why does interference only apply in the blue paint? What is the logic for that rule?

Can't ordinary players be interfered with anywhere on the white ice?

Reimer was in the crease. Spezza first made contact in the crease, and wrapped up on top of the crease. He was in the crease (overhead).
