Oh you're just teasing me now

... actually he is too old to be around when the Leafs contend, if ever.
Damn though, this guy is the most underrated player in the league. Sorta like Sundin when he was here.

- GoneFullRetard

only thing about Datsyuk is he doesnt have a lot of wear on his tires, going to be 34 with only 700 games played in 10 years. although, hes been injured from time to time.

Aulie's actually looked much better of late.

And yes I don't believe our two best, most likely trading chips will be 'healthy scratches' for a divisional tilt that we absolutley MUST win.

- AngryWhiteMale

exactly, a must win game is exactly the type of game that might get schenn charged up.....and I don't know what kadri has done to warrant being sat over rosehill.

over schenn though?
even still, rosehill over kadri?

- Barx

Tonight ...IMO, yes. Gonna be war out there. Somebody has to keep Neil in line and Mike Brown, god love him, is in the wrong weight class.

Can't stand Rosdehill.

Considering how bad Schenn's looked of late it's easy for Aulie to take his spot on the roster. Esp. if Aulie can re-acquaint himself with Dion and keep things tidy back there for when Dion has a brain fart.

Not even close to accurate.

Gunnarrsson
Dion
Liles
Franson(stole Komi's spot after he got injured, and deserves to stay)
Gardiner
Aulie(At least of late)

These guys have all been better then Komi this year. And only one of those makes more than Komi

- AngryWhiteMale

Obviously they've been better offensively. But DEFENSIVELY he's been one of the most stable guys. Aulie and Gardiner are not very good defensively. Gardiner can just skate REALLY fast and get back just in time. Franson has been getting better for sure. Dion is NOT good in the defensive end. I've seen multiple games where he skates around looking for a perfect pass then ends up losing it to the attacking forward. Liles I haven't paid much defensive attention too. But Komi has definitely been better in his own zone than Phaneuf, Aulie and Gardiner have.

You really think we would give up 2 first rounders (7th overall, 5th overall) for some stiff the Red Wings picked up in the 6th round in the '98 draft?

Fail.

At least throw in your 1st rounder from that year.

Jiri Fischer - is he any good?

Does he play with heart?

Would he have good chemistry with Luca Cerada?

... and The Monster!

... and maybe we could bring back Karel Pilar!

Wow, that was terrible. He took the wrong side of the net. Floated around aimlessly, and left the other side wide open.
- Domaju

And I will just add:

Got beaten to the puck to start the play (no way you should let that happen off the face-off)

Was just standing in the crease watching the puck carrier - had no idea there was Pominville behind him.

Seriously, that's just awful. He shouldn't have played Saturday night.

I've got no problem with benching him tonight.

Getzlaf always seems to be injured

just my opinion

- AngryWhiteMale

He had 2 seasons where he played 66 and 67 games...and he still had 69 and 76 points in those years.

brown can handle neil....besides, neil is too busy playing solid hockey lately.
carkner and konopka wont see enough minutes to warrant rosehills waste of ice time.

Agreed.

This is pretty simple really.

The only problem is that benching Schenn and Kadri really doesn't send a positive message if they are looking to have those guys be an integral piece of a trade.

... unless Burke is not moving them. I just don't know what else they have that would attract something significant

it's gotta be a trade...no way aulie and lombardi deserve to be in the line-up over kadri and schenn.
- Barx

No, seriously - look at the video link I provided.

Schenn needs to get his head out of his behind.

Brownie is back so no reason to put Rosey in for toughness, even again Neil. And haven't we played a handful of teams with big tough guys and not had Rosey? It's Ottawa, not the Broad St. Bullies. Kadri and Schenn are always centered around trades, and due to their age two of our hottest commodities. Further more we just sent Gardiner down, for 1 game and what we bring him back because Schenn needs a time out? Not buying that, they'd of just kept Gards up and had Schenn sit, but they recalled for a reason. Somethings up, question is for WHO?

Burke again works with his fav guy Murray in Anaheim.... Schenn, Kadri, 1st and 2nd for Getz and a warm body.

Side deal: MLSE sends Murray a check for an additional 1MIL so when he gets fired for making stupid trades, hes still compensated personally. (hence the Wilson extension, gets fired but retains his earnings).

Scouts already know exactly what they think about every player in the NHL.

Benching them tonight isn't going to have a huge impact on their opinions.

The problem with Komi is that, regardless of who his partner is, at some point he will be entrusted to actually handle the puck. He will be in possession of it and will need to make a quick decision on the best course of action.

He had such a chance vs. Buff on friday, and he threw a hard cross ice pass to Andrei Markov, who he's seen a lot of because of the post-surgery pain-killers.

The Sabres then turned around and banked either their second or third goal that game.

Komisarek is a joke. I'll repeat a quote I said earlier. Regardless of Kadri and Schenn's trade value(s), which are probably very high. In order for BB to bring in a genuine top 6, with a large contract, he will have to deal one of several moderatley-sized contracts.

Grabs 2.9
Lombardi 3.5
Komi 4.5
Army 3

It'll be interesting to see how BB manages the cap situation as we roll towards the deadline. We're not in bad medium-long term shape, but as for now, BB needs to figure this out
