It was Nash or Parise. tough call, but Burkie went with contract certainty

Put Orr on the list. Although in fairness to Burkie, I liked it at the time. And it didn't hurt us at all.
- Atomic Wedgie

Exactly no signing has hurt us long term... and there are some signings that have helped us long term, after a trade mind you.

So Dupuis gets to play in what 35 consecutive games without a point, a sniff etc.
Lombardi skates really fast so he's has to be in the lineup. And the kid with arguably the best hands on the team sits. Makes sense to me.

- BorjeFan4Ever

Especially after playing well with Connolly. As soon as they put him with useless Lombo the kid struggled.

Schenn was standing in the crease, watching the play. He had no idea Pominville was behind him. Yet he wasn't challenging the puck carrier. Sorry, but that's on Schenn. I have no idea what he was doing. No wait, I do. He was watching the play, doing nothing.
- Atomic Wedgie

I disagree here - Gunnar got tied up behind Schenn so Schenn moved up to fill the passing lane. Gunnar should have recognized the switch and taken Pominville. Instead he squeezed between Schenn and Gus. If Gunnar does that, Schenn assumes it's because there is no one back there. Schenn backs off and the pass went by him. That's on Gunnar

1s goal: I don't hate the pass. I hate the lazy line-change without looking at what is happening.

2nd goal: The guy curled back. Not on Komi.

3rd goal: Goat horns shared by Komi and Phaneuf. Dion has got to cover the right side. And if I was wearing Leafs glasses, I'd say that the ref should have called interference on that - you can't tie up a d-man at the blue line to let another guy walk in on a scoring opportunity.

But what the hell, let's just agree Komi and Schenn should sit.

Cool?

Funny thing is, every team is looking for D help. Every team is looking for a forward with size that can score. Every team is looking for the same figin thing, no matter what place you are in the standings.

They are all the same, even Boston is looking..

haha no.. thinking over the summer when prices are down i will poke around and see what i can find

A long time ago, I used to play pickup with a goalie who would break in Felix Potvin's equipment.

In return, he would get Potvin's old equipment once Potvin had moved on to the next set.

It was fun because you'd skate in on the guy, and he'd have Potvin's mask, gloves, pads and pants - you'd swear you were shooting on Potvin.

Because he's young, and refreshing him a game can do wonders. Stop making every little decision to be a big deal. This is quite normal for guys like Kadri for a game or two.

Go follow another team and watch how they deal with it.

- Brian Huddle

Re: Kadri,

Fair enough, but I am getting a little sick of the Burke/Wilson empire where they get an idea in their heads and refuse to let it go.

Kadri has not been given a fair chance, and frankly, I think WILSON should shoulder a lot of the blame if they are not happy with Kadri's play. I think this kid has the skills and the desire. If he is constantly making dumb plays, then coaching also has to be considered. Of course, that is the one thing that never gets critically looked at.

He's a healthy scratch. He hasn't been sent back down. He's been taken out in a game they feel they need to be more physical.

I disagree with it, should be Lombardi out in my opinion, but they've gone with Kadri. This is not a big deal.

Kadri has been mediocre. And being mediocre and trying to be fancy and losing the puck isn't going to cut it.

Boohoo. He's scratched for a game. Wah.

IMO Kadri is the perfect guy to play in a game like this. Draw's penalties and throw's those little hit's that piss people off.
- honesthockey

... along those lines...

What disturbs me most about the decisions is that is smells like the Leafs are changing their game to compete against the Sens.

Ice your best team, and beat the F'ckers... but don't look scared by putting in an all-but-useless enforcer and taking out one of your best offensive talents.
