It's was a good run.

And I'm going to defend the Connolly signing. He was the best centre out there (Richards wasn't coming here). Sure, the money is high, but we didn't need the cap room, and the fact that it's only 2 years is good.

I get why he signed Connolly, best available option at the time - and thank god its only for 2 years.

Here's a question that's really CAP related... given where the team is right now... and with needing to sign/acquire a number one center some how... would Burke be better off with Connolly's salary on the books - or off?

Let's start a debate.

Do you think the Leafs should go after the best player available or the best centre available?

Are we full on the wings? DO we commit more money to the wings and keep our small centres?

Can large talented wingers take some of the slack off of the centre and cover some of his defensive roles?
