That sounds like a complete lack of faith in Lindback to me. He couldn't trust him to play the Isles and get the two points? I haven't seen Lindback look consistently terrible, so I don't get where this lack of trust in him is coming from. He's barely played this year, getting his playing time down in Milwaukee. Personally, I think Lindback would have been fine. This really feels like Trotz is conceding the game to the Rangers. If he couldn't trust Lindback to get the W against the Isles how can he look him in the eye and say he expects him to stop the Rangers?

I have to admit I felt the same way although it might have been a different result if a couple of early chances were buried. (Erat).

Oh, and Weber is now -2 in the 2 games without Suter.

Anyone else find it hilarious watching these guys on NBC talk about Nashville? I don't think they've watched them play all year. We should make a drinking game for next years lone nationally televised game.

Yes, their insight was gleaned from THN headlines...now I know how little to trust them when they chat about other teams!

The Rangers are a good team and they played good last night. 5 wins in a row is a good streak, if we were going to lose than this was the game to lose.

its frustrating that we are playing well and we are still in 4th in our division.

Why do these idiots skate without their buckets during warmups??? There is a chance of taking a puck to the head just as much as a skate. just plain stupid!

Ultimately this game wasn't lost on goaltending. Anders let in 2. The loss was caused by too many passes and blocked shots up front. Lundqvist stood on his head and they were the better team (which is expected when you're the #1/2 team in the league). Would having Pekka in there have made any difference for 2 GAA? Probably not.

I guess we'll never know, will we? Maybe Pekka shuts down the Rangers. None of their goals were exactly stellar play by the blue shirts. Maybe the game goes into OT tied 0-0. Maybe the Preds win in a shootout. We'll never know. I just don't like playing your top goalie against an obviously inferior opponent and your backup against an obviously superior opponent. It defies logic.

The league has asked them to skate wit-out so that tv cameras and fans can have a chance to see faces. I think it is voluntary, however.

Is there any unspoken rule about who wears a bucket and who doesn't? I always thought it was whoever has the best hair.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. You cant defend yourself into victory. The score last night could have been 1-0 and if the preds cant score a goal then its pointless to debate about whether Pekka was in net or not. Anders did a great job, imho... Last nights lost was on the whole team. I just hate it when every time this team has a chance to shine in front of a big audience they BLOW IT.. EVERY DARN TIME....

As anyone thought about this. Since the NHL are so concerned about concussions, have they looked into changing the helmets? Making them thicker? Just a thought....

If they made the helmets 2" thick it wouldn't help - in fact it would be even more damaging. A big part of the problem is the brain getting slammed around inside the skull.

Some of the problems stem from the fact that the helmets, padding, etc for skaters (not goalies) is already too protective and too strong. With armor, one can hit as hard as one desires with little concern of self-injury. However, the person being hit is a different story.

That's just one angle - there are lots of factors that come into play and there are no easy answers or quick fixes.

Peks wouldn't have stopped the flukey goal off Hillen but would have stopped the 2nd goal. Maybe down 1-0 in the 3rd, the preds might have scored a goal to go OT or steal one in the shootout.
The coaches took night off more than the players!!! Can not leave ROOKIE players on the ice for 2 minutes even if your name is Ryan Ellis! This is not the 1st time this has happened.

Ummmm - I believe it's against the rules for coaches to go out on the ice and yank players off.

Maybe I've been misinformed .................

Stating that the coaches took last night off is a ridiculous statement.

It is not a ridiculous statement, should have never left Hillen and Ellis out for almost 2 minute shift. Hillen was gased!!! Jack could have gotten off the ice. Then on the second goal Josi was on the ice for almost 2 minutes. Funny how both goals were scored on D pairings trapped on the ice way too long. This falls on the forwards just as much for not clearing the zone. The coaches should have managed the rooks better.

The ridiculous part is you saying the coaches took the night off based on the attribution you gave. Did you miss that part of my reply? Apparently so.

Josi and Ellis each made a rookie mistake that contributed and possibly allowed the two goals. They neglected to come off the ice when they had the chance. Again, rookie mistakes.

Saying that the coaches took the night off due to the fact that two players screwed up is a silly statement. Maybe Trotz et al should put chains around their legs and winch them off when it's time.

I still don't know why you guys played Renne against the Isles. We always lose Matinee games and even worse you let our cross town rivals beat you.......

Ummm...the coaches didn't leave them out there. They got stuck out there. These aren't little kids, they know when they're supposed to come off the ice.
