I still dont get the hate for PAP. He has as many points as Patrick Kane, has more points then Marty St.Louis and has one less point then Kovalchuck. You put him on another team he will have even more points. Honestly defensively ok he gives the puck away but on this team that is the thing to do. I am happy he is an Islander and I hope they keep him around for a while. I credit him for making this power play better as well

I don't think there is "hate" for him, personally I don't see him fitting into the Isles plans after this year. Bottom line is he benefitted MAJORLY from having JT as his centerman, and he's not AS productive without him. His points are high, yes, but please do not imply that he draws comparison to Kane Kovalchuk or St. Louis. That's just crazy. He's an excellent bargaining chip at the trade deadline.

Parenteau Nabakov (both who are unbelievable bargains) for a 1st rounder is realistic to a team like Philly or Vancouver and it is something I would do in a heartbeat- less than a heartbeat actually. Nino is going to be given a real shot next year on the Right Wing, and Okposo and Grabner are signed for the next 4 years. PAP unless he's willing to play 4th line minutes or the left side just doesn't belong on the Islanders so the logical thing to do is trade him while you can.

OK...here goes. Zach Bogosian has put up more points this season as a defenseman than Bailey has as a center. Jordan Eberle is on an over a point-a-game pace. Alex Pietrangelo...nearly twice as many points this season as a defenseman. Colin Wilson, over twice as many points as Bailey. Erik Karlsson...four times as many points as a defenseman. Luca Sbisa (!!!)...more points than Bailey. Del Zotto...over twice as many points as a defenseman. John Carlson...twice as many points as a defenseman. Heck, "defensive defenseman" Luke Schenn has more points than Bailey does this year.

"Regressing" Tyler Myers is 7 points behind Bailey for career totals despite Bailey having a full season head start and being a forward.

Those were just random people from the first round that I recognized from as high as 3 overall to as low as 27 overall.

Adam Henrique was drafted two rounds after Bailey and has three times as many points in his rookie season.

I'm not even that down on Bailey, to be honest. But I don't know where you get this stuff that he's beyond criticism or that he's better than even the folks in his draft class. As more of these guys break into the league, Bailey falls further and further down the 2008 draft pick ladder when it comes to actual production. I know a couple years ago people were saying he was a great pick because he had more career points than other guys who hadn't even started playing in the NHL yet, but the simple fact is Bailey has a loooong way to go.

I'm sure people will throw 2008 busts up there and say something like, "You see? Filatov wasn't good." Is that where we're setting the bar for our players though? Bailey should be a 45-50 point player by now, and he has not even sniffed that total yet, and will come nowhere near it this season. He'll be lucky to put up 10 goals and 30 points, and even that would require a dramatic pickup from his current pace.

Your post should put an end to this Bailey debate. But it wont. I'm so sick of hearing how Tamby! I mean Bailey has gotten a rotten deal. And how Tamby! I mean Bailey is such a terrific Passer. And How Tamby! I mean Bailey was rushed and needs obviously more then 4 or 5 yrs to recover. . And hearing What a gifted well rounded game Tamby has. I meant Bailey.

Bailey. I do mean Bailey. His game Is regressing over the past 2 seasons. He seemed to turn the corner in his 2nd yr. His 3rd yr and this yr he is disappointing to say the least. When your in the league for 4 seasons and your game is regressing. Its time to take a deep breath and look into the mirror. If Bailey is as good as some proclaim. Then BAILEY has to prove it dispite any disadvantages he may or may not be facing. I personally believe there are no excuses for his lack of production other then ... he's just not the player the Isles thought he was. Or what some may believe.

Bailey is logging quality Ice time and is barely registering ONE shot per game!

His FO % is less than 50%

He is - 10

In 44 games he has only 35 hits, only 18 blocked shots, 1 PP Goal, 1 PP Assist and a total of 11 points!

All this well into his 4th NHL season. I'm not so sure making a case for this kid is any different then making a cast for Tamby.
