My logic is that his as a UFA would lower his value.
His value wouldalso increase because of the number of teams vying for him.
It would also decrease because obviously NJ would resign him if they could, so if they are willing to trade him, teams must realize that they can't sign him

How much do each of these lower or raise the value? I have no clue... With that said, Komi and a 7th gets him

A few points:

1) Kadri is a PPG player+ in the AHL. At the NHL he is playing at a 0.35% rate, not bad by any stretch of the imagination. His two way play has improved from last year, and his hands are great at the moment. If Mac and Connolly were playing at a higher level, he would have better production at the moment, unfortuantely, their games are below what they should be.

2) Schenn was the Leafs most valueable defenceman the 2nd half of last season. He was playing great hockey, and Shutdown defenceman normally begin to hit their stride at 25 years of age. He got a contract extension and is struggling slightyl, as expected. Is Myers a bust?

3) Parise is a UFA. The reason they would trade him is because they don't feel they can sign him. As such, the same risk would be taken by the Leafs. Giving up a 5th and 7th overall for someone that would walk is a huge risk, regardless of how you look at it.

Look at the Dustin Penner trade. The Kings had to give up Teubert (huge potential d-man, former 13th over all pick) a 1st round pick and a second round pick. For DUSTIN PENNER! You're offering almost the same package: A d-man with potential, a first over all pick. But you're also adding Kadri who many feel is a bust. Parise is about 1,284 times better than Penner.

I should add an * to it in that this deal only gets done if Parise signs on. In my opinion, this deal makes the Devils pull the trigger. I don't see the Devils accepting much less, to be honest.

2. NJD can get a bidding-war going.
