Problem is Buffalo won't pull off a deal with the current GM/Coach combo.

When you've been in a position as long as the 2, you cater the team towards your style. I'm sure both feel they have built the team similar to how they want and as such only a minor tweak is needed in their minds. You need a new GM and coach with a different vision for the Sabres. That's the onyl way you will clean house and make those huge trades.

You have a pretty damn good core, and all you need is different management at the helm. Not that they are that bad in Buffalo, they have just run their course.

The most important things in Buffalo are an owner willing to spend the dough, and a good core of Enroth(yes I believe he is the future), Myers, Vanek, etc...

Agree with you 100% other than the Enroth part. Darcy falls in love with his players and over values them. I beilve that he would rather have Myers than say a healthy Pronger.

The Sabres have lacked a true goal scorer for a long long time. I know you would say Vanek but the majority of his goals come from 5 feet in front of the net. 112 goals for 7th worst in the league wont cut it. Anyone who has ever played a sport of any kind knows when you score more and take leads you play better and harder than when you dont score.

Fix you would ask? I dont know how you can, figure next year Boyes is gone but that salary basically becomes Myers. Hect has to be gone so there is 3.5. But Hecht as well as say Stafford Sekera etc cant be moved casue they make a lot more than their worth. Sekera only value was right out of the Olympics, Gragnani was in the off season. The only thing that can happen is offload bad salaries for garbage.

This lead to exit stage right Darcy and Lindy and let the next guy build something. Darcy has proven that he can not trade for an impact player. Briere was a toss in for Gratton. Steve Reinprecht and Rhett Warrener to the Calgary Flames for Chris Drury and Steve Begin. So he got lucky on 2 trades. I dont see him making an impact trade

dont worry ek hasnt actually talked to anyone who has any info on the devils and parise, he has no devils source as the devils are extremely tight lipped and dont let anything slip

pretty sure the only people in the world who have any clue right now are lou lam's and vanderbeek

but if you read the FULL interviews, not the ones where alot of this hockey "reporters" are reading and quoting you will see that there really is no question that parise wants to remain a devil, he even said he would love to get the talks started

parise will remain a devil unless there is a major trade in which the devils get the better part of the deal by far, and if not he will be a devil for a long time
