MAB is pretty bad defensively. hes there to score points and play the powerplay with a canon of a shot. he should never play 20 min or more a game. that is a reason we are last in the east right now.

I was just told #Leafs #Ducks close to finalizing a deal. I assumed it was Ryan. Could also be Getzlaf.

Agreed, and totally. Its all nice to look at the stats and assume because he is +8 he is playing much better defensively this year. Although +/- stats are easily manipulated. Doesnt mean he has gotten better defensively, could be that Tampa simply scored more points when he was on the ice.

Theyre team is in deep crap. MAB has not been that bad a dman this year for Tampa. Hedman how ever has been pretty bad. Starting to wonder when hes gonna start showing some promise.

I just found out something last night when watching HNIC after hours with Mark Giordano. I was friends with his late sister Mia in Toronto back in 1998 before she died in a car crash. When Mark came in the league I always thought "Hey, I knew a Mia Lisa Giordano, I wonder if they were related". Turns out, they were.

ducks play tonite, if a trade is being finalized i think we'll see a healthy scratch for Bobby Ryan. i would bet anything that getzlaf is off the block. Any deal for Ryan better include one of: Schenn/Gunnarsson/Aulie, one of : Kadri/Colborne, and one of Kulemin/Grobovski

I'd entertain getting Gardiner back as well. Very tired of Toronto deals though

Getzlaf is all but off the block, if he ever actually was on the trade block. That story from Murray was to spark some life in the top guys by threatening core player trades. It was never meant to be more than that.

Bobby Ryan could be moved though. He costs 5.1 million and has been inconsistent this season and at times looked out of place on the top line. Ducks have had a top heavy offense for a few seasons now and as much as I like Ryan, if he can net us a young and promising Dman and some other roster pieces, it may be a good deal.

I would be looking for something like Schenn, Colborne, Kulemin, and Gardiner for Ryan and Ana 2012 2nd rounder. Or Gunnarsson, Kadri, Grabovski and Gardiner for Ryan straight up. Point is, there would be a bidding war for Ryan I think, and any eventual deals better look like an overpayment or Bob Murray gets a vote of no confidance

I think Schenn and Colborne would be a nice start. With a little more development out of Schenn he and Fowler could be an amazing tandem. Not sure the ducks are gonna want Kuli. Grabo could be nice for you guys though.

Doan to Toronto? For some veteran leadership heading into the playoffs maybe (although Doan has minimal playoff experience). I just don't see it happening unless the Leafs pick up some other pieces.
