Burke has a deal lined up already or a couple deals and will pull the trigger for the right one. Leafs need a center. Only centers i can see burke pursuing would be one of getzlaf or stasny(american/would cost cheaper than getz). Or the other two americans who's names keep popping up parise and bobby ryan. Players like corey perry, staal, nash, carter i dont see being traded or even to bother about as a rumour. - Mapleleafs_91

Dont think i was there. But i was laughing at the fact i was sure you were making it up esp for a player who doesnt even play for edm and hasnt for years. Sounds like a hockeybuzz type rumor. I dont think Staal is going anywhere. Unless they move him for the like of Getz. I do however hope he doesnt turn into Lecavalier. I think Carolina will ride out Staal and move other guys like Ruutu whom i like for assests - poisondhearts37
Thing is, we can't move Ruutu without taking back salary in return, so unless we make a trade to acquire a high paid forward, we're probably better off hanging on to Tuomo than trading him for a less desireable asset. |

You guys will be fine. Ride out the year get another High quality top draft pick and keep building. Staal just needs a reset. Hes been a big player his whole time in Car. He'll bounce back for sure. You got Staal Skinner Ward Sutter Murphy Dalpe Falk Boychuck. Nice stuff to work with. |

Said the clown who has never had a serious back injury. That poop hurts bro. I remember when one of my favorite baseball players missed two months of the season because he injured his back while sneezing. It is fairly common and not funny at all, unless you have the mental maturity of a retarded four-year old. Grow up. - rynoisgod
Dustin Penner wrote a letter to the a Kings blogger making fun of himself for the situation.
So before you go all "Serious or die" on people, why don't you lighten up a little. So instead of telling other people what they are or how to act, why not keep your mouth shut? No one cares how you feel just as much as how he feels.
Everyone cares how I feel though. |

to be honest, whats the point of trading staal? his value is going to remain the same for the next couple years so either way you guys will still get a huge return for him either way. Give it like another 2 years and go from there |

Nash to toronto... that would be perfect... Even if he doesnt play center it would be so good for our power play and over all offense and hes huge... and he could probably play center if he watned to, hes Nash. |

Cmon Ek. We got a rid of a forward who was bumped to the 3rd line by rookies making 3.4mill for the next 4 freaking years for a no brainer top 6 froward & a 2nd that we can easily recoup at the trade deadline in his last year of his contract if need be. Holland is a 20 year old doing very well in a league of 18 year olds. See Ryan House & how he's fairing once he got elevated to the AHL & he looked great the year before in Chilliwack. So how does that make us buyers??? I call it good value on a trade, its not like Cammi doesnt have any trade value right now, in fact it couldnt go much lower if he stayed in Montreal. If things go wrong by mid Feb, we have lots of UFA pieces to sell that will get us picks & prospects galore in a sellers market, Comeau, Stempniak, Sarich, Hannan,Jackman, Kosto, Moss, Morrison, to name a few free agents that can be inexpensive pieces for buyers for 3rd pick here & a 2nd pick there. Our bigger pieces like Iggy & Kipper & JBO can wait until the draft. Some of our younger players have been performing as well or not better than some of these vets, so we may even have a mathematical chance in some games in March but still sell in Feb.
Lastly, LA are a very good team that people thought would a top 4 seed & with DSutter there, I really think its going to happen. No shame in our loss last night, I think LA are going to beat a few other teams along the way as well. So I'm with Whipper, middle finger salute to you as well. |

Staal has 14 points in his last 8 games, 9 in his last 5.
Skinner is back tonight, we've already played our way out of the bottom 5... things are looking up. |

Only $3 mill above the cap floor. Tuomo makes $4 mill. If we only acquire, say, $1-2 million back in Salary, then we can't trade any other UFA's out without taking a minimum of equal salary back.
Weird situation where we pretty much have to be buyers just so we can ship out some UFA's. |
