Love the W...but that is a terrible way to close out a win. We got lucky. Everyone TOO SOFT in the final minute....and it's RARE when anyone on this team ever slides to block a shot, sacrificing the body to do so. No one did in the final Sharks flurry either. But the 2 points are banked. Yes. - philco28
And you close out your remarks with your standard soft reference and lucky...well done...
Odonnell bad game... |

Wierd game! Sharks never seemed to have the energy or interest but were in it until the end.
Hawks won alot of board battles and at least 5 great chances that did not go in.
Why was that goal disallowed...didn't look like a kicking motion in fact it went off his skate away from the net?? |

they should of had shaw as the first star to give him the exposure and kudos - molly2522
Agreed. He was dynamite...great feed to i think Hoss in the first who was robbed by Niemi, all over the ice in the 2nd, big time instincts and credit for the game winning goal, then the little guy goes out and hits behemoths Doug Murray and Ryan Clowe the next shift.
1ST STAR 4 SURE. |

i also have to give my kudos to stalberg
he is really playing well
i am getting a shaw jersey that kid can play
jj hayes may not look smooth on skates but he does have some decent speed
he will only get stronger along the boards - molly2522
Text I sent to a friend in Detroit yesterday: Prepare to be annoyed by this kid for the next 10-15 years. |

There was no good replay on the feed I had. It showed the puck going in off of Niemi but STalberg wasn't even in the picture. If that's all Toronto had then they go with the call on the ice. |

Looked like he lifted his skate to stop the puck and it went in off of Niemi - lifting the skate is considered a kicking motion. |

Hard to tell whether it was a kicking motion, but the aerial look definitely verified Vic didn't get his stick on it to knock it in, so it was then left to the Toronto folks to determine if there was a kicking motion and they agreed with the original call made instantly by the ref. No goal. |

whoever picked shaw should get a raise
all prospects should take advantage of their opportunities the way he has
on a different angle any prospect that does not show improvement quickly should be used to gain a top 4 defenseman |

Is Rockford that rotten of a place? Seems like Shaw doesn't want any part of going back there.
Kid can really skate for somebody drafted in the 5th round. |

Hammers penalty at the end saved a goal. One of few times you could say that was the right move lol |

3 hits, a takeaway and 6-0 at the dot. This kid is too good to be true. |

Most of the so called draft experts said when we picked shaw that he could be a steal and become Adam burish with a bit more skill. |

IIRC Carcillo's suspension is now over and he can be place on IR. Does Smith get called back up? Does Bickell still have a spot in the lineup? |

You asked why Hammer was on the ice....
Probably shouldn't slide to block shots in that situation and take yourself out of the play for several seconds. - StLBravesFan
If you do it right and are agile, you shouldn't be out of the play long at all.

Assuming these guys continue to grow, looking at the young players, this could be a good Hawks team for quite some time: Stalberg 25, Leddy 20, Kruger 21, Shaw, Hayes (skated well tonite), Hjalmarsson 24 - add in Frolik (if you can get him on the scoreboard) and Kane and Toews -
That's 9 on the big league team 25 or under without going to the prospects in Rockford, Saginaw, the Swedish.... |

Long enough to be 6 on 4 for an open shot.

What if the shot gets through originally ? Like many did in the final minute.

He's got much more ability than Burish - skates better and faster, nose for the net and gets to the right places in the offensive zone, takes a hit to make a play, can be used at center and wing, kills penalties.
And he didn't even have an NHL contract 2 weeks ago. |

Then your goalie has to be a goalie and actually win you a game. |

Don't mean to be a Johnson, but Really? WTF do you think they have been doing evaluating and developing guys. Not sure if you are part of the bipolar pta club here looking to trade anybody because maybe you had a bad day.
Poise and composure. Still need help on the blue line, but the right kind of help. At the right price. |

Amazing isn't it? But SOMEBODY upstairs liked this kid and STOLE him in the 5th round. Ballsy pick by the POWERS.

Exactly, not to be a topper Johnson, but I said before Christmas that he would and should be up as he is.
He is not Burish or Carcillo. He is a version of Marshand. Kris Versteeg with more edge and grit. Some of you hate the phrase, but he is a honey badger. |

Hey - all I did was make a comment abouth the youthfulness of a winning team - not that usual to have so many players 25 and under and still be winning.
