Maybe this is a glass broken on the floor and liquid seeping into the carpet kind of question: Are Giroux and Jagr really healthy?

Since his comeback game, Giroux just hasn't seemed as sharp and has not had the drive that he had pre concussion. Like Crosby, makes me wonder if he really was ready to come back.

Jagr has looked slow, not methodical, slow. If his groin/back/hip are not 100% he can still be dangerous, but his physical play suffers. He cannot control the puck and shield it as well and he doesn't have the first step to catch up.

Getting Gussy back should help. Now if Bryz would just remember how to put together consistent 60 minute efforts over multiple games....

Giroux is fine physically. Just needs to get back to making better decisions with the puck. Jagr may not be fully recovered. Had to expect periods like this during the Season for Jagr.

Brilliant...you traded two good young players and instead of just needing another top 4 defenseman, you also need a winger.

Yeah, and last I checked, Shea Weber's been on a team that's won one playoff series in it's history. You need a team to win the Stanley Cup

id like to see jake replace jagr on the topline a few shifts, his speed and puck dishing skills might get that line going again

Nashville wouldn't make that deal. But I'd make it in a heartbeat. It would be a steal for the Flyers. But it's not realistic.

I'd keep Jagr right where he is. No reason to change it.

If it was just that. I was going to go into the whole lack of realism angle afterward. Sure you get Shea Weber, but then you also still need another defenseman and now a top 6 forward, too boot, with cap issues.

Your replacing Carle with Weber, so you don't need another defenseman. And you move Read back up into the top 9, and add Rinaldo to the lineup. And your also left with the ability to add a player with a 2.4M Cap hit at the deadline, with another move to add to that space available if they need to.

i wish we could hire the preds d scout or d coaching staff, they always have an abundance of good young d-men over the years

timmo
suter
weber
hamhuis
parent would have been if he stayed there

its like a dman fountain of youth, they trade there best dman and another rises up to be better, if they trade weber id be scared of what would take his place

It's temporary. Giroux is as big of a reason why the line isn't clicking right now. It's not just Jagr.

Isn't it funny Hartnell is playing his best hockey, on the last year of his contract

If Hartnell want's 5mill + I would let him walk.

They need a defenseman before making the trade, don't they? Trading one defenseman to add another still leaves a need for a defenseman.

True they could move Read up, I just worry about putting all the eggs in one basket with Weber, plus the cap hit he will carry next year and beyond...but yeah, if Nashville would do JvR and Carle for Weber, I'd be in.
