He played 10 minutes against the Islanders. I agree, it's a conspiracy. JVR is pulling a fast one. Every time there's a rumor that he's going to be traded, he's going to have a concussion.

Homer: Hey Reemer, I need to see you a minute.

JvR: Ok Homer...Whoa! I'm feeling dizzy chief. Hang on a second...Think I'm gonna throw up!!

Runs to bathroom, fakes vomiting

Homer: poop. Well I guess we'll have to give this Wawa gift card to Hartsy.

You've convinced me. JVR is faking the injuries so he won't be traded.

Im 100% good with going after Gleason.
- stveshdy

I'm good with Gleason, Francois Beauchemin, Hal Gill, Bryan Allen or Nik Grossman.

Also Shea Weber or Ryan Suter, assuming it don't cost an arm and leg.

I'm also fine with standing pat if it means not overpaying for any of the above or unnamed players.

That's a shame. I hope this kid get's it going eventually. He;s a heckuva hockey player and those with the ridiculous comments need to realize that.
- JoeRussomanno

To suggest he's faking an injury is pure nonsense. I'm concerned he wasn't forthright with the trainers and let them know he was having symptoms and tried to play through it.

Just like Colby Armstrong with the Leafs. I hope Talbot is forth coming if he's having any troubles, too.

Dude you have to start being more positive. Every player the Flyers have signed, has a purpose for this team.

The Leafs wanted JvR. They called Homer asking for him. It wasn't Holmgren asking for Schenn.

My guess is that ship has sailed. Burke is targeting the playoffs. If he trades Schenn now, I think it's going to be to Anaheim for Ryan or Perry or Getzlaff.

Great. Lets see what he can do with a few games off.

Usually these are the games he has a four spot.

Talbot didn't look right after the game in the interview. I would hope JVR being so close to the Pronger situation would have the smarts to tell someone he wasn't feeling right as soon as he felt it.

Tough news about JVR, injured riddled season for the young man.

time for others to step.

Talk about depth, JVR is out and who moves up to take his spot? Matt (frank)ing Read, that's damn solid. Read is a 4th liner only on the score sheet, he's a beauty.

Bryz is going to have to play great tonight, I expect a very good game from the Preds. Trotz is a hell of a coach, he'll have them ready.

Lots of young Dmen in the lineup for the Preds as well, hopefully the Flyers can really pressure Ellis/Josi into some mistakes.

He has a purpose. I just disagree that it's a necessary purpose to have a player signed for.

The debate shouldn't be Shelley. Because Shelley's irrelevant. His cap hit isn't stopping them from making a move, or anything else. The debate should be, do they need to carry an enforcer.

My answer to that is no. My opinion would be the same whether the enforcer in question was named Jody Shelley, Steven MacIntyre, George Parros or George Laraque.

Same here. I really believe despite the misguided perception on his toughness he actually is a tough kid. Not dropping the gloves and laying people out on a regular basis doesn't make you a punk. He's a talented player that needs to use his toughness in other ways. Hopefully the team can use the LTIR benefit if he's to be out for an extended period of time to address that troublesome defensive zone. I personally believe the JVR we saw in the playoffs is who he is. He was on pace for a heckuva season before he got banged up. He even showed some flash lately in the chicago game. People have to be more patient and bring their expectations to reality and away from NHL12.
